So my posts have been deleted due to me calling out boosters and suggesting someone should hire a booster.
When i started playing comp on PC in season 4, i really couldn’t couldn’t get out of plat, but it was my first “FPS” game on PC. But as the seasons went on i noticed why it was hard, cause the other team always had a booster or a smurf or a combination with both with the smurf solo queing and getting on their team. I did make it to masters so i have progressed somewhat in skill. I have also noticedd that when these boosted players que without their booster they’re in an elo where they really don’t know what to do and it hurts the team.
Before Blizz takes the post down cause i’m trying to stop their source of “50 million active players”. Should blizzard bring back their report function for boosters and smurfing?

I understand the hate for the subject but also understand… that it’s kinda difficult to know for sure if someone is a smurf / being boosted.
Someone is good in a lower rank / not ranked yet? They could’ve been working on their skill or just good at video games.
Some is bad in higher ranks? Could be trying a new hero or just having a bad day.
It would be almost impossible to actually tell the legit cases from just people false reporting because they think it’s the case.

they could add more varifications to accounts.
csgo did it and it really helped … sure you still run into smurfs but overall it was had a positive impact.
I mean you need a phone number to be in top 500 now so that is one step. I doubt they would want to do that for every account.
Blizzard Entertainment, Inc is like any other gay company, they dont care about the player base only their profits which is a mega unfortunate. The state of this game has become about as bad as a year long smack addiction, unstable and on the verge of death. Their report system works on rare occasions when they stop sucking jeff off. Plat is harder than master, this is because the mass abundance of boosting harlots, this is just a matter of being actually dog garbage, this is because im vsing a gm in plat and diamond which is nutty, the only not even stable games are 3300+. Is this what a reaming from behind feels like? find out next time on prank patrol

That’s just keeping them out of top 500, like there are so many top 500 players who have multiple accounts in top 500, the only change this season could be that there will be 500 different players in top 500
so what is your point?
on the one hand you are saying smurfs are hard to detect and it can cause false reporting. and then when someone actually suggest a legit way you say “i doubt they are doing it”…
because having a valid phone number JUST to play comp would lock some people out of playing the game. Without a valid phone number you can still play the game and be as good as you want, you just won’t ever be considered “top 500” which is just a cosmetic title and doesn’t effect gameplay at all.
One of the easiest ways to tell was career profile, which to no surprise they decided to make private. For example for widow smurfs you could tell by looking at the crit accuracy and win percentage and also seeing in the previous seasons that they were a 200hr Mercy main with 43mins on Widow. Or even seeing a player who had a 200hrs on hitscan players but seeing they only had minutes on like each projectile hero and then all of a sudden they’ve become a Hanzo, Genji or Pharah god. When i climbed you could tell the difference between Plat, Diamond, Master and GM players. Like master and GM would be comfortable with spawn trapping and knowing when to get in and out, Diamonds would be a lot more passive and not choke the enemy all the time and with plat you could see the difference

see at that point i already know that you actually have no clue about how other games solved the smurf problem.
it was VOLUNTARY… ppl who did it got matched up with other ppl who varified their accounts.
you were not forced to do it…
I agree, it would help to have multiple verifications to accounts. I like the phone one they did to the top 500 but I know everyone doesn’t have a phone so multiple options but mandatory verification would be nice.
I know people could just ask for other peoples phones but I think it would send a message that we don’t want smurfs. But of course blizzard love smurfs because of that
Yes it does feel like the game has gotten substanially worse than when it was released. Smurfing and boosting is the main way they can inflate their “active” players number and also their source of income, so you could see why the support these types of P.O.S people

“you’re not forced to do it.”
Yeah you’re not forced but the way you’re making it sound, it sounds like you either do it or you play in the group of smurfs, people without mobile phones, and people who just don’t feel comfortable giving away personal info.
this also doesn’t solve the boosting issue.
and do what with the info?
Look I’m totally against private profiles but that said, just play the game or don’t play the game. This constant focus on your team, who they play hero wise, what their stats are this season, last season, the season before, the season before that and of course S2 being that’s the “only real GMs” to some of the player base is just strangling this game’s community.
We can’t do ANYTHING with the info, nothing at all on any level but look and go “Ahh yes I see”.
so just play the game and be done with it.
I get it’s annoying but clearly nothing is going to be done about smurfs, boosting or throwing being it’s just not something they can really police. Sure some people win or lose a few games here or there due to it happening. That sucks. Yet it’s not the reason anyone is say hard stuck in gold for 4+ seasons.
Boosting or smurfing, one can fix one and not the other. They both don’t need to be fixed at the same time
People without mobile phones? Fine, there can be multiple forms of verification but it be mandatory. Boosting and smurfing is and issue and it needs to be addressed and the only way to do that is verification. I think email verification isn’t as intrusive as a phone number.
i think you dont know how many ppl got mobile phones… ppl in africa have mobile phones to get loans and to do finances (and im not talking about rich ppl but poor ones who are being helped with mircotransaction systems). if you can afford yourself to buy a pc then you certainly care enough to spend money on a phone.
also “personal information”… you must be living in a bubble when you really think that blizz or any other company doesnt have any personal information about you.
I feel like that info gave a clear indication on a profile being boosted, especially when they’re a widow main who from season 4-7 have a 10-13% crit accuracy and then season 8 have 25-27% crit accuracy and then from season 9-12 they’re back 10-13%, it kinda of sabotages your team especially this player is soloqueing. A lot of the time it was clear to see throwers, i personally have run into someone who didn’t get healed in the first 30secs of the game and switched to Sombra, and he only switched to her cause that was his throw character which clearly indicated by the 0-37 lost games on his account. Everyone in team chat knew who he was but they still didn’t understand why he wasn’t banned for throwing. Sure boosting is harder to police but these other things shouldn’t be. Seeing that info should give info on how stats are being inflated on such a massive scale
Oh clearly that’s the case…
Anyone who looked could see clear cut cases of boosting or throwing. Yet as I said, we can’t do anything with that info. You can sort of go “I knew it!” and feel vindicated that the person fits some sort of boosted or thrower narrative in one’s own mind.
and… what? What happens? Nothing.
It’s like finding out info about someone’s spouse that the husband or wife already knows and just doesn’t care. So what happens? Nothing.
At some point a person just needs to play the game and stop even bothering to look for data on this or that player that they simply can’t use in any meaningful way.
As the only solution to the smurf issue is locking one account per an IP or phone and that would screw homes with more than one gamer. Throwers require some sort of in game admin to catch/ban red handed and I don’t see that happening. Again, I get this issue sucks but there is honestly nothing the player base and do and we are better off just not focusing on it.
Despite it being hard to fix the problem of smurfing. Every cheap weekend a wave enters and ruins the game wth the new smurfs. There so many other games with smurfs but initiative have been taken to atleast address the issue. While blizzard just low key encouraging it. There are streamers who smurf in lower ranks there are also streamers who have their game thrown. Few of them quit the game because of it. On console you dont even need to buy the game again. With every smurf that gets banned or suspended is basically meaningless cus theyll hop onto another acc to boost or smurf on.
