With the ‘nerf’ coming to DVA I think it’s fair to talk about this. I always thought that a eject button would make sense for DVA to have; not using it for the ult/self-distruct. There have been times when being pilot DVA, running out of a situation and being able to shoot makes more sense then just taking hits in the mech then the other team eats you up (especially when your boosters are on colddown).
Initially I thought how it could be set up similar to how sym’s teleporter’s ult charge works. Where if the point or checkpoint is taken while the teleporter is up, the amount of charge sym gets depends on how many charges she has left on the tp. So if you have 100% of your health when you eject, maybe you get 50% of the charge (for call mech), and if you have 50% of your health when you do it, you get 25% of the charge. My roommate mentioned how someone could abuse it if they were low on health, but if someone is low on health and get hit, theyll lose their mech anyway. So choosing to lose the mech earlier makes you less vulnerable as pilot DVA, and allows you to not draw as much attention to yourself if you chose to lose it in a safe spot; you still have to gain most of the charge to call mech (if you have 10% of health left you’d only gain 5% of call mech ult).
I read about the new buff coming to reaper for his raid form, the ability to cancel at any time. Some people talk about instead of the other team timing their hits when the raid ends, they have to watch out for the reaper even when in raid now. I think this sort of strat could be applied to DVA if she had the eject button.
I think it is the sort of buff that wouldn’t really change anything. Where no one would consider it a true buff, nor nerf. Its just there if you ever wanted to use it. I can also see some arcade games or custom games using this ‘ability’.
Im not asking for a change in the amount of damage done, or changing the cooldown for anything, I just think an eject button that can be used at any time (not for her ult) makes sense. Adding a button like this, I dont think anyone can complain that its a bad or good thing to make yourself more vulnerable/but some strats could be used with this.
