They had Tim Pool on Joe Rogan’s show once complaining about the stifling of “free speech on Twitter”. The twitter executives were there and each and every case he brought up they showed him the reason why the person was banned. He looked like an absolute moron and all of these “free speech is being stifled” people always gloss over exactly what it is that gets removed or gets people banned.
I’m Black. Nobody cares about this and it’s a nonissue. The person who made this topic was a troll with literally 10 posts. But what obvious troll topics like this does is offer a congregation for people who have a problem with the protests that are going on in the real world. It’s what a conspiracy theorist would call a false flag.
Offer up some bait and get people mad like if this is an actual issue people are fighting for. The bad actors and gullible people eat it up.
I had to ask the Black congregation if it was okay if I still used police Dva. They said I’m skating on thin ice but I get a pass because of my Black card.
Just don’t let them see you and you might be okay.
All big social media platforms are run and censored by companies who are forced to be heavily biased. If they don’t, outrage media will call them racist and that is bad for business.
These are echo chambers, this is where people will form their opinion on. It’s 21st century brainwashing.
Population of the U.S. is like 328 million. That x 1200 multiplies to around 400 billion. Factor in the extra $600 a week and you can easily see that exceeding 500 billion.
Math doesn’t lie.
Well a lot of it went to manufacturing hospital equipment.
I’m not arguing against people’s rights of freedom of assembly. I’m arguing that protesting during a riot, makes dealing with the riot, more difficult, and you become part of the problem by doing so.
Fair enough. I personally believe that is a bit of an issue anyways and people need to stop getting their fee fees hurt by other people’s opinions. Like it or not, one day you will be on the end of censorship. Everyone abuses it when it benefits them and then freaks out when they lose that privilege. It is really best to just have open discourse and try to be civil about it. I just can’t even with this obnoxious cancel culture that is starting up and the only joy I get out of it is watching people who supported it become victims of it.
Problem is in this world of ours people tend to fall for these narratives so easily and it takes them awhile to wake up instead just asking “how does this effect you” to an actual person.
Too many people stuck in fantasy world not realizing the world is nothing more than an ego who has the best manipulative skills. Who can I divide and conqueror. It’s actually genius in way, but cruel at the same time.
and they are not real.
Hear me out here, Brig and D’Va ONLY exist within the confines of a video game and outside of the game nothing that happens should affect them.
Hana Song (aka D’Va) doesn’t care about the Coronavirus or BLM or anything else as she can’t go to the protests and can’t get the virus.
You’re missing my point. The issue isn’t whether they lean to the left or the right, but why they do it. If its due to personal beliefs of the owners of Youtube, then fine. But if its because Democratic party have their hands in corporations like Youtube, then that means the Democratic party (a government body) has an anti-free speech agenda.
Anyway, Youtube specifically is fairly neutral (not completely, but mostly). Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter on the other hand…
Proportions dude. Proportionality. The proportion of what the average American received is miniscule compared to what a handful of already cash rich companies received. The average American was already one pay check away from disaster. The average large American corporation not so much.
Show the facts. This is what you hope it went to. The administration is hiding the numbers. If you use your brain you’ll know why, because they would not be hiding it if it went to manufacturing hospital equipment.
Then you’re arguing against people’s freedom of assembly. I didn’t see protestors blocking police from arresting looters and I saw plenty of videos where protestors tried to stop looting and people causing destruction.
Just say you don’t like the protests and call it a day, you would be saying the same thing whether there was looting or not as the protests have been largely and overwhelmingly peaceful. I don’t understand why you people have to be disingenuous about it.
To be fair, there are a lot of real cops and people who do not care about BLM in real life too. I am not sure that realistically changes anything. I for one hope Blizzard follows the path of Epic and censors those skins for no apparent reason just because they can.
I hope they don’t, I think the fact that we can have those skins in game and still be supportive as teammates with Doomfist etc. in game shows that gaming is colourblind as it should be. I don’t care (or usually know) the race of my co-players in game.
Honestly the fortnite thing was done out of fear and not wanting it to be a potential controversy, but it’s not something anyone really asked for or cares about.
To be fair to the other side of the argument I had seen an article some time ago about why Riot Brigitte skin was bad but that is from the section of the populace that complains about any and everything. People who want tangible change in the real world don’t give a damn about this.
By your logic, we should remove all black heroes from the game, because they perform MANY TIMES more violent acts against blacks than police do.
Is it that difficult to put 10 seconds of thought into something before you just jump on the bandwagon with the crazed masses? Being a vocal minority does not imply you are remotely correct in your beliefs. We don’t need to “delete” everything related to police from video games.
We shall see. It is precedent setting which is exactly why this thread exists. And I never looked into it too much, but I believe Blizzard made a statement about supporting BLM. It would be odd not to address this given that players are harassing each other in-game using this as a means to normalize racism, no?
I would like to see them support their sentiment, words are empty. I would not worry about it actually happening because, well, what do you know, they do not care. But I always love to be proven wrong. It would be interesting, at least.
Gonna be a no from me, chief. Taking cops out of a game isn’t going to stop racist people from being racist, and generalizing the police based on a handful of bad guys is… well, other folks have covered that.
Especially considering that Overwatch (in game lore) can be considered a world wide police organization. Heck look at D’Va she is a soldier as part of MEKA.
