So basically I was suspended from OW2 until the 23rd of this month which in of itself is not that big of an issue(its 2 weeks of being pretty bored), the issue begins with filing an appeal for my suspension because I believed it wasn’t warranted.
A little bit of context: I had returned home from my morning class and wanted to play some QP like I usually do then I saw I was suspended and wondered what I had done to warrant it. Initially I thought it was because I had sent a message in global chat about wanting to bully Hanzo players irl, however that itself should not have led to my suspension because not only was what I said NOT directed at any one individual in the match, the game hadn’t even started(spawn doors hadn’t even opened yet). When I send my 1st appeal I received a pretty quick response from a GM and thought I could have a sensible conversation about my suspension. Now this is the funny part, although they were respectful in their response they provided little reasoning for my ban in the form of 3 messages I had sent. Those being: “Holy sht luckzo players are downbad”, “Try going sombra or some sht instead of blaming me” and “Luckzo nerds have half a braincell ist”. Clearly I dislike hanzo but every OW2 player has at least one hero they could go a day without seeing in game. The 2nd reason for my suspension made even less sense I STILL don’t understand how telling someone to switch to a different hero instead of blaming me was a good reason to suspend me. I remember saying that too, I was playing JQ and the other team had wrecking ball and I was expected to chase down the high speed ball and kill him instead of going for the team he left behind.
After this pretty disappointing response, I thought “lemme re-open the case cause this makes no sense” I received the most dry response I’ve ever gotten in my life:

I went to view my support ticket and based on the GM’s name they live is a whole other time zone not only did whoever this is give me a dry and lazy response they also referred me BACK to the support page whilst also telling me any further tickets made on the issue would be ignored(which makes little sense.
I play Overwatch 2 almost daily and I thought the support team would at least attempt to try and help me with the issue. I just wanted to voice my disappointment sorry if it’s a lot to read but any advice would be appreciated.

A piece of advice, mentioning specific employees, particularly when discussing a suspension, is a good way to get the thread deleted. Might want to remove names.

Its not the actions of telling someone to switch, its how you say it.
Example:
“Do you have a hero you can play to help deal with X”
vs
“Hey hanzo your doing trash damage, get off him so we can kill X”
Often people say stuff and it comes across harsher or even toxic then what they intented.
My advice is, stop worrying about your team so much, especially if its QP.

The key phrases that get most players into trouble are
taunting text like “EZ”, “GG EZ”, “X-DIFF” etc.
any demeaning or toxic text - “loser”, “trash ”
any racist text
any sexist text
any threats
telling players to switch
etc.
It’s ok to say “we can use an Ana vs. that Mauga, or Bastion vs. Rein / Winston,” but ordering players to do so is a big no-no.
When not playing OW2, I go Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, and good old Netflix.

Is CB2077 fun? it costs an arm and a leg so I don’t want to get it unless its fun baldur’s looks fun as well but ALSO super pricey

BG3 was the 2023 GOTY for a reason. CP2077PL is also insanely fun now that the show-stopper bugs have been fixed. Yeah, both titles are pricy but excellent titles with immersive story lines and great itemization. If you want a free to play sci-fi shooter, War Frame is an oldie but goodie as well.
Makes sense and all but I remember the person I was talking to initiating the fight so Also I didn’t mean to come off as ordering them to switch they were coming after me first pretty harshly so I returned the same energy.
When these fights happen, many try to bait you into making a statement that can be reported. Unfortunately the other guy got his way this time. It’s better to keep a cool head and not reply so that you can report them instead. I’ve nailed many for saying “GG EZ” and “Tank Diff” since that toxic taunting is unnecessary and demeaning to the losing team.
makes sense I’ll try to dial it back but honestly expecting me to chase down ball on JQ was wild

I seccond support FF14. I’m sure Square is almost as shady as Blizzard, but at least they make games that are actually worth your dollar compared to this trash they given us, even if it is “free”

Never played Final Fantasy how fun is it?
I mean you insulted people that play a certain character, in match chat, across several matches. You were definitely reported every time you did this because people really don’t like it when you insult them for who they play.

Think of Overwatch as the “Country club” of gaming. You gotta act “proper” and not like a “gamer” in Overwatch. I think that is about as best as I can put it. 
Just be glad its a 2 week and NOT a perma ban. 
Unsurprising, look what they’ve done to Overwatch. They are horrible.
well FFXIV is the only one I’ve played, but it was pretty good MMO. Granted there is a lot of stuff between the start and the current state of the game, with a big emphasis on story.
