This is just a reminder of one of the most pathetic “gaming journalist” sites around the internet.
Do not listen to what they say, listen to your players Blizzard. Not those who abuse your game by using it as a platform for their own monetary gain.
To the art designers of the “Academy D․Va” skin, I just want to say that you did a hell of a job on that skin (one of my personal favs for her, along with the Police Officer skin). From the mech to dva herself, and her weapons. (though im still kinda salty it didnt drop for me…maybe this year xD).
I know this thread just brings more attention to the article. However what i really wanna stress, is my appreciation for Overwatches Art team (and Blizzard’s Art team in general). I know what it feels like to have someone unfairly criticize your work…it can hit you hard
So rather than talk about the article, i implore everyone to say one nice thing about Blizzard’s Art team, whether it be your fav skin or map, or somthing as small as a piece of concpet art that you really liked.
dude, that was like 8 months ago. im assuming you watched a poor youtuber that didnt have anything to talk about and he was digging months and months back to find something
I adore her Academy skin a lot, not so much for her outfit but for the meka design. Especially with golden weapons it looks gorgeous imo (for the longest time I thought the head of the meka was supposed to be a crown).
This article show up on my Facebook recommendation, I refuse to read and waste my time with it. The skin came out last year and from my understanding a lot DVA players like her skin. Please don’t fall for Kotaku crap I having feeling their just trying to stir the pot and make players angry for no reason.
This memeified “deletion” of kotaku is quite annoying. They employ who might be the only actual investigative journalist in gaming, Jason Schreier. He broke important stories on working conditions for Rockstar, BioWare and their unfair exploration of workers.
Nevermind the fact aht investigative journalist as a whole is dying and it’s gonna leave a hole in the culture filled by the Kardashians, Disney and Robert Murdoch, but actual investigative journalist in the game industry is an actual unicorn of rarity.
Agreed. I don’t agree with everything they do (rehashing this old academy D.va argument is ridiculous, and I found Jeff Kaplan’s statement about the skin distasteful) but they also do some very good work too. They are obviously a liberal blog, and also put out some clickbait bs sometimes. But that’s not a reason to delete them. Not a publication in existence that doesn’t put out bad articles. It feels very much like “burn the books” nonsense.
For example, this is also on their front page right now.
I became less annoyed with it when I realized that a lot of the school girl fetishness of that skin came from the messed up advertising of it moreso than the skin design itself. I still also think it would have been better off as a sentai skin too though.
