Hi,new here. I know about 2/2/2 is standard composition in ow. But I noticed that in my team, almost everytime only 1 player pick support, or sometimes all damages. However, enemy team always 100% got proper 2 supports and proper 2/2/2 while my team got 1-2 tanks but still 1 support or none.(I picked damage heroes)
Blizzard trying to make me to be support player?
Why are you blaming blizzard for your teammates not wanting to pick support?
not blaming,just wondering.
How…would blizzard be trying to make you play support? It has no control over who your teammates play. Nor does it have control over who you play.
That’s such scattered thought…
If you’re a beginner you don’t have to worry about that. Even if you go 4/1/1 or 5/0/1 and your opponents go 2/2/2 the better team usually just wins in very low tiers. Balance or meta doesn’t really matter there. Having absolutely no heals is probably something that can drag you down but otherwise you should be good. If you want to keep improving your aim to possibly go for a DPS later on you can play Ana as a solo support in those situations.
I don’t know, wondering how enemy team always got proper 222 while my team all damage most of the time. Are they communicate before match start?
Are you, by chance, playing overly loud music in voice-chat and flaming everyone in text-chat at the start of every match?
Otherwise, no, the enemy team is not more coordinated than you are.
You are playing Quick Play, right?
Quick Play is generally an uncoordinated non-serious funpark.
Enjoy the ride, do what you want and relax in Quick Play.
If you want to force 2-2-2, you can use the LFG (Looking for group) feature to make/look for a group with role-selection and enforced roles.
No, Since bought this game, I still didn’t talk/chat during the match. Having this thought because keep seeing this situation but it not a big deal to me. Just having fun with few matches after work.
This is likely 1 of 3 things (maybe a little of all of them actually).
Your opponents are using role locks in the Looking For Group system. At which point, yes they are communicating before the match starts. You can tell if this is what’s going on by holding tab. Any player in a party with another will have a white line joining their portaits.
It could be confirmation bias. You think your opponents get a 2-2-2 more often than you do, so your brain takes more notice of matches where your opponents get 2-2-2 and you don’t.
Finally… I have found that the first few hero picks often have a fairly large impact on what the rest of the team picks. So if you get in and instantly lock in a damage hero… that frequently has a cascade effect and the next couple people think “Oh it’s one of those games” and then also lock in DPS. I’ve found that insta locking an off healer on the other hand often results in getting a 2-2-2 or at least a 1-3-2.
I got better comps in qp than in ranked.
And its better to play team game when teammates dont try to kill each other using voice chat. ![]()
Happens. Every 3rd or 4th match has a lot more matchquality though. Others are ruined by alt-accounts.
I see, that’s a good information. On your third suggestion, I think it’s because of that, I did insta-lock damage hero after hero selection screen came out. I guess you’re right on that.
Welp i can say from my experience that there is like 2 games out of 10 that are generaly decent in ranked, rest is just dps/toxic waste that have no teamwork, everyone run foward like idiots, having contest who gona die first.
Thanks, there is some games where I played badly but somehow still win.
This is not a stupid question and in my opinion one of the many reasons why Blizzard doesn’t want to implement detailed match statistics.
That would immediately show what’s going on with matchmaking.
( By the way this is why pursuit.gg was banned. )
Thanks guys for the response. I will just move on and try to fill tank/support role if needed for the next games.Happy gaming.
Pursuit gg was banned because it’s 3rd party software that tampers with the game and reads out ingame information which gives the player using it an advantage during the match.
“But…”
No “but”, because when you start reading out gamefiles like this via software, Blizzard can no longer track what you’re doing with this information.
If you could stop making up conspiracy theories, because you’re unhappy with the results of your own poor performance ingame, that would be great.
That’s not correct. It uses the same library as OBS. And It uses builtin Window-Functions. And I see no reason why you don’t compare the signature of the process with the database and whitelist the program. Blizzard does that for OBS, as well.
It’s exactly the same as if I made videos of my games and put all the statistics in one big Excel spreadsheet.
It has nothing to do with cheat prevention at all.
Maybe it’s a conspiracy theory, but maybe I’m already working on proving it. But how much empirical data is needed? Many players would have to participate.
It would be very easy for Blizzard to include match statistics. That would solve a lot of problems.
Watching out for kills, damage and ult-charges is called gamesense / awareness.
It is a skill.
The use of cheating tools that read out such information and feed it to you is forbidden as it is a clear violation of sportsmanship.
You may create excel-sheets after a match based on your memory or recorded replay.
It is different if you collect this data via 3rd party tools during a live-match.
Dota 2 officially offers a similar service as pursuit and visor offered, but they charge money for it.
It is clear cheating, really.
Recently, we’ve investigated third-party applications designed for use while playing Overwatch and we’d like to reiterate which of these applications are not permitted in Overwatch. To provide more clarity, any third-party application that impedes on the competitive integrity in Overwatch is not allowed. For example, a third-party application that offers users information such as enemy position, enemy health, enemy ability usage, or Ultimate readiness creates an uneven playing field for every other player in the map.
