Blizzard tired of throwing out hints

Lol based on the post I’m seeing people still don’t know why Lifeweavers actually under performing or there still saying he needs a rework and all that it’s hilarious.

Blizzard: use the gun

Players: Omg Lifeweavers so weak

Blizzard: Buffs damage again Use the gun

Players: he’s souch worse then the other supports like Kiriko Illari and Juno

Blizzard: buffs weapon again Have you considered gun?

To me it’s always been easy switch from gun to healing but most people have like psychologically trained themselves and got in so ingrained in memory to just keep healing and that they can’t stop without there teammates dying they never think of switching hands, hell I’ll let you die if it gets me a pick.

What is this “god” youre talking about? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I don’t see what your talking about, and there’s no edit symbol so clearly it wasn’t edited yup yup.

It has two sides.

Players: buff Illari’s heal a little
Blizzard: buffs heal and nerfs damage

Illari’s pickrate drops more

Players: just return old damage
Blizzard: buffs heal
Players: buff the damage
Blizzard: buffs heal

Or more more illustrative case with Bastion:

OW2 released

Players: removing self-repair and old ult was a mistake, please return it
Blizzard: buffs damage dealing utility
Players: no, just return self-repair and old ult
Blizzard: nerfs Bastion
Players: please, return self-repair, Bastion most unsurvivable hero
Blizzard: do nothing

Community crafted with self-repair appears

Players: Self-repair really balances Bastion, return it
Blizzard: do nothing

Classic mode appears

Players: Artillery is just worst ultimate in the game, return the Tank Configuration it works better
Blizzard: do nothing

Next version of classic releases

Players: please, at least return self-repair
Blizzard: do nothing

Perks added in to game

Players: Bastion fine only with repair perk which usually available at the end of the match, move grenade to the perk, return repair
Blizzard: do nothing

I haven’t played LW for yonks. This is the first time that I’ve played LW with perks around.

I won’t lie and pretend that I’m ever going to pick anything other than the passive heal and explosive thorns, but is the other major the better one of the two or not? I won’t use it but I am curious.

The constant 10hp is usually always the better one I usually pick it regardless if they have an Ana or not or sometimes I pick it to possibly screw over Junker Queen.

I rotate between super bloom and super blossom depending on who my tank is if it’s Mauga I usually go for the overcharge heal, and sometimes Dva to anyone else superbloom usually, Unless I REALLY just wanna keep them alive forever like an Orisa the last 2 is just situational for me.

99% of people I meet that play LW are just constantly throwing heals around. Sometimes literally zero damage the whole match. God, that must be boring. He’s like the anti-Moira for a portion of players. Instead of damage it’s all heals for him.

This is ultimately Lifeweaver’s biggest problem (as opposed to some inherent aspect of his kit like people insist). There are very few people playing him correctly because of the stigma from the past two years that streamers and content creators enable. He is a slightly more kit-defensive Zenyatta and should be using his high DPS at any opportunity.

Well I played lifeweaver like 3 or 4 times since his release and considers him fun and though he does insane damage when critting loool then again I’m DPS player so all DPS minimal heal :rofl::rofl::rofl:

People think he’s a healbot because he was advertised as a “mercy type” support.

He’s not though.
Just use the gun, destroy shields and deployables, poke from range if you’re scared. But please shoot!
Have at least half the eliminations of your dps, double if they have very few.
Roses have thorns and wisteria seeds are poisonous.
Shoot.

Thank you! How do you play LW and not shoot at all? He wasn’t given 100 thorns just to sit there and look pretty.

He does it so well though

But he’s even prettier when standing over a pile of his dead enemies :star_struck:

Seriously does anyone else get bloodthirsty on LW. I be looking for blood with the thorn.

I run up on anyone that even looks at me wrong! Like do you need that?!

Honestly, I do not like Lifeweaver as a character. I’ve got a lot of reasons for it. But mostly I get bad Lifeweaver players on my team who use Life Grip at extremely bad times and don’t really add value.

You are right though about the gun. When I play into a healbot weaver, I just get them low, they run away (weaver is surprisingly hard to kill), and then I go after the DPS/Tank they were trying to protect. But if it’s a deathweaver, when I dive at them they just shred me. He can absolutely melt a tank like no other support can. But so few use the gun.

Also, stop telling people this secret because I don’t like getting shredded.

Lifeweaver has always actually been pretty good. He is a lot like zenyatta but with mobility.
Guns: same range basically faster moving rapid fire less damage per bullet. Loses with zenyatta and discord combined though but discord is obvious and lifeweaver first burst can have some element of surprise.

Pull is like a mini trance you can use on a single hero over and over instead of on a full team.

Instead of damage boost utility he has mobility and survivability.

The “healer” mindset is just never going to work great. It’s not a good strategy in any game that’s based on party building or original mechanics. As far back as I can remember even playing D&D in the old 1900s lol. You would set up your party and you would have someone who could heal of course, but everyone knows you keep healing as the bottom priority of your uses. Healing means someone already took damage which means there was already a failure. It’s better to kill the enemy, it’s better to stop the enemy from being effective etcetera. Healing only matters when it’s life or death really. If you play to keep your teammates alive and fighting by hoping they win their duels by you throwing health at them you are going to eventually have a bad time.

Support means support it’s not that complicated lol. It means do what the other guy can’t so he can definitely win the fight. For me I like to sit back on Zen and watch my guys engage and focus the same person they are but from where they aren’t expecting. Same with lifeweaver imo.

Probably because you have had to charge your heal to get value out of the heal, and if a high priority teammate suddenly get’s a spike in damage, swapping to healing means he’ll get anemic heals and probably die.

These changes should make that better at least.

Tbh, I don’t think that’s blizzard giving hints.

I think they threw random crap at the wall; it’s a monkey and a typewriter situation. They finally landed a change that sticks and it just so happens it’s what people that enjoy playing Lifeweaver wanted.

Otherwise, the rest of the changes are even more out of pocket. (Buffing a monstrosity like hazard or widow so she’s better in the maps where she’s not banned LMFAO)

LW is a highly agile support that can dive and punish all day long. It’s why i’ve been a mostly LW OTP from the start - Blizzard just keeps making my job easier.
