(Tracer is by far the strongest hero in the game btw. I mean her t500 pickrate is quite literally nearing moth meta status, with 75% pickrate.)

okay but I still don’t understand how applying the passive is any useful if the Tracer’s damage is nonexistant after certain range?
Tracer is the opposite of Moira. Tracer is a high-skill floor, high-skill ceiling hero. She should get better as the ranks get higher. And look, that’s exactly the case. Then the questions are
- is she too good at low ranks
- is she too good at high ranks
The answer to 2. is definitely yes. The answer to 1. is probably also yes because a hero with a skill-floor as high as tracer should not be 6th out of 17 in bronze. Something is wrong with her balance if she is outperferming at both bronze and t500.
Ergo, she needs a nerf.
Moira is going through the same thing - too strong at low ranks and also strong at high ranks. With a skill-floor/celing as low as Moira’s she is also a bit out-of-whack.

I have little to no experience on Tracer and even I can get lots of value out of Tracer on a plat level

She has reliable poke, huge burst, ton of sustain in increased movement speed and high mobility abilities and a save my booty ability
Because, the way to play the game is to all attack 1 person. If someone is low, and can only get 80% healing because someone is tickling them from range… they are the perfect target to rush.
Any DPS that can apply constant chip like that is good atm. Soldier, Ashe, Sojourn…
Tracer does NOT need any buffs. At all.
She is an extremely strong hero right now.
She should never be buffed for lower ranks to be honest. If you’re doing bad on her, it’s very much a skill issue. Learn her and get better.
If you go by season 9 comp only, according to Overbuff Tracer currently has a pickrate of 4.00% and a winrate of 56.25% in GM. She’s actually performing too well.
okay but you said Tracer, a character that engages squishies and melts them down,
and you said any range, which could remove the Tracer’s damage from the equation, which would literally be as if the tank isn’t even anti-d, because one person isn’t doing damage to it,
or one out of 2 DPS players are basically doing 0 damage to tank in that example…

She doesn’t need to do damage, she can deny the healing. Then when the target is called, JQ shouts, lucio speed and echo beam, all 5 rush that target and melt them.
Does this game even have such a scene for them to care about at this point?

In Korea it is Doom, Tracer, Echo, Lucio, Kirko.
JQ seems to be a lot more of a western pick. Tracer chips away, tries to isolate someone and deny the healing, then team rushes/dives in.
Kiri will often go with Tracer and TP away when when in trouble.
