Why is blizzard silent about Halloween update?

Blizzard is hiding right now. Shush.

Damage control would be releasing it right away as soon as possible to get everyone’s minds off of the bleepstorm

Too busy banning people for having a politician opinion.

Pretty sure all rosters across all their games
may not be enough.

They didn’t announce the previous event and just rolled it out. I think it’s because of all the complaints about spoilers days before.

Most likely because beyond some cosmetics there’s nothing really major that’s new or changed in the event. Besides, communication has been on a downhill slope for quite some time.

But for new players like me its a lot of skins to get.

I didn’t necessarily mean with their customer base here. There is uncertainty on 2 fronts right now.

And, from what I have read, too busy stopping people from deleting their Blizzard accounts, too.

The internet is good at getting angry but, it’s bad at staying angry especially when it is met with no response.

If Blizzard doesn’t plan on reversing course (even temporarily) the best move for them is to stay quiet.

(Due to China the temporary approach probably won’t work a China will not take it well. For an example of successful use of the temporary approach consider the way Valve dealt with the paid mods in Skyrim. Valve’s Gabe Newell did the usual we are listening post then agreed with all the comments then removed the paid mods then put them back in when things had died down)

If Blizzard puts out Halloween stuff it will just get flooded with Hong Kong comments. If they block comments that will be used to show their views on speech.

Blizzard also likely doesn’t have much stuff coming for Halloween so if they put out much they’d have little left for launch day.

blizz posted on their china page

Because Jeff is missing…

they could just post a small twitter. Like “we see you on October 15 for Junskentein”, or whatever the date is. Many other games do small communication more frequently, and that is a good thing.

I don’t like the silence. I don’t see the point in it, tbh. Most likely this is not a “we have such a big surprise!!!” silence. But just…a silence. And then the event with 4 skins will drop.
Idk. This is like you are a child and you know that you get to eat your favorite food next week. You don’t know when, but due to something else which was negative from your parents you won’t enjoy it anymore and just choke it.

Communication is always good. Being honest is most of the time good. Why cannot we hear when the event comes? Also, people like to plan. People don’t want to come home and be disappointed.

if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck its a freakin duck. they are hiding.

lol, they should go one step further. Release a duo hero, 2 lesbians as 1 who switch places using some phase tech to create a unique game-play experience.

Because they know their fanbase is never satisfied and it’s not worth communicating with us. They were happy and excited to show what they’ve done for every update. But - collectively - the players just spat on their hard work and trashed their work.

If that’s hard to grasp, imagine this type of scenario below…

Talented person: I’m making this 3D art thing for the common area. Look at it. Isn’t it cool? I think it’s cool.
You: It’s OK. Whatever. We’ll see when it’s done (or) Wow! It already looks so bad! It’s going to clash with literally everything in the house!

Talented person: I finally finished it! What do you think? Care to take a closer look?
You: TRASH! (then you throw it in the trash in front of them - spit on it - call them names - etc; later you go back for it to display it in secret so the person never knows how much you actually like it)

talented person stops showing you what they make/stop communicating

You: I JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY THE PERSON DOESN’T TELL ME WHAT THEY’RE MAKING AND I DON’T GET WHY THEY DON’T LIKE DISCUSSING THINGS WITH ME ANYMORE!!!

So. Like. We need to just sit in silence thanks to the hostile enviroment the immature and ungrateful players dragged us all into. We’re not going to change it. Unless players as a whole recognize and appreciate work that’s being done. For now, anything we do get will be purely out of obligation or bare-minimum hype. Not actual excitement for showing us what they’re doing (unlike how things were towards the beginning of OW’s life).

TL;DR = Creators being silent instead of addressing places filled with hostile/rude/entitled players??? Absurd!!! Right???
