Blizzard SCAMED ME!

So here’s the thing, i had between 700 to 1000 boxes in Overwatch 1 and when i logged in Overwatch 2, they automaticly opened, which is fine, since i didn’t lose anything.

But after contacting Blizzard, here’s what they say :

"Chests you owned in Overwatch 1 were automatically opened when logging in between September 14, 2022 and the release of Overwatch 2 on October 4, 2022.

After this time, the remaining chests are automatically converted into credits instead of being opened, and this is what happened to you in this case."

So they converted my boxes into credits, literaly 46000, which is worth nothing except buying the few skins i had left ( im lvl 1563 but miss alot of event loot ), i can’t even tell you how much money the boxes i owned were worth it, and when i logged in Overwatch 2, they clearly said that my boxes were opened automaticly, and not getting converted to some useless coins, i want a total refund of that !

Blizzard scammed everybody with the prices in the in-game shop. Blizzard scamming people is no surprise whatsoever these days.

That’s not what scamming is. There were prior warnings about lootboxes going away and automatically being opened.

I think he means the scam is that he got credits instead of skins? Is my interpretation.

I think he means they got converted into legacy coins, which can’t be used for some shop items.

I can.

What, did you expect to get gifted several thousand in gift cards?

Why would anyone even buy lootboxes only to never open them? There’s no point to it.

Police confiscated my pc, it’s been 10 months now, but still they could’ve sent an email and i would ve reached the first cyber coffee to buy all the skins and open my loot boxes

Now that was an interesting turn of events.

I have a friend that did this. Couldn’t understand it.

He had literally HUNDREDS of EVENT loot boxes unopened. I asked him why, I couldn’t understand it, why not open them and benefit from the contents?

I forget his answer but it was along the lines of “wasn’t interested in the skins, I only play for fun, was nicer having them saved up in some sort of hoarding/collectionist fashion”.

Again, couldn’t understand it, but he didn’t want to open them. Then he logged in to find Blizzard had opened them for him, which he really wasn’t happy about at all.

Blizzard really do know how to alienate their own playerbase.

Hold up. I think you have more going on in your life you need to be focused on. Not digital loot boxes that only had silly voice emotes.

no but they could just have opened my boxes, that’s all i asked !
I already am in rage cuz i couldn’t play for literaly a year because of some tragic events in my life and skipped so many events and skins in the game ("anniversary remix…etc ),
but converting them into bad coins, that’s so unfair and annoying !

I mean… lootboxes dont exist anymore, so they opened them up.
Blizzard did mention this before though

How about you don’t judge someone for something that you don’t know anything about.

i m a content creator and i was hoping of making a huge lootbox pack opening !

By your own post are you saying that Blizzards player base is made up of “Hording/Collectionist Fashionistas” I cant say I identify as that, nor any of my friends that play OW.

Just like my inventory with all unlockables unlocked is worth half a million dollars according to ABKs calculations now?
