the (2 or 3 week) latest season of POE the devs (GGG) changed entire loot system of game and based it around a massively hated mechanic from a prior season.
So I am so happy to see Blizzard wanting to re-take the “piss off our playerbase” award so soon after they lost it.
What is GGG?
I’m not a Path of Exile player (I very much prefer Diablo), but I subscribe to Rhykker and watch his weekly gaming news updates, so I am aware of that whole debacle. I think these situations are a little bit apples to oranges.
Additionally, my understanding is that GGG has been a very well thought of studio for a long time, while Blizzard (though I love their franchises) has been in quicksand ever since the Hong Kong incident. Maybe I only think that because I closely follow Blizzard, while my knowledge of GGG is solely taken through the lens of Rhykker’s reporting (though I respect and trust him as a journalist more than any other gaming journalist). My point here is that GGG’s reputation is still good enough that they can recover from this much more easily than the already tarnished Activision Blizzard name.
