I was once told by someone who works in Blizz support that in their entire time dealing with appeals they could only think of 1 time when a suspension was overturned on appeal.
Hi you must be new to overwatch.
The report system is completely automated you can report anyone for anything and Blizzard does nothing to investigate the issue.
Best bet is to take your silence/ban and move on.
P.S. All I do in cases like that is report everyone who threatens to report me for no reason. Report them as gameplay sabotage and in the comments abusing report system.
Iâve used ALL my reports in one game before report people on both sides lol.

Not true at all. Proâs get their reports appealed all the time.
But if you donât make money for blizzard you donât get to appeal reports.

Not the situation we discussed.
They didnât even reply to my appeal, just unbanned me after 24h and ticket closed lol. Wrongly banned because people can report you for nothing and Blizzard donât even look in to who falsely reported you or deprived you from playing for 24 hours for nothing.
The only people benefit from this is the people abusing the system, they get to report for fictional things/blackmail you if you donât play what they want you to⌠at the cost of nothing to them 0 repercussions. Its just a win for them.

Blizzard donât care, they know their system is broken, look at all the one tricks banned over the years, history is not a lesson to them. They done nothing to stop it, anyone can report anyone for anything other than cheating and it is never reviewed or confirmed. Quantity of reports = guilty with Blizzard, the end.
This is why I donât play anymore.

I got banned 2 times for this behavior of toxic fat teenagers. They group up, they are so bad, matchmaking expects you to carry all of them and then they blame you even if you have 5 medals gold with roadhog ( true story). And what happens? A ban. YOU are banned.
Cheating is confirmed to be automated now also. It used to be manual, but this is their response to all of the blatant cheaters.
Thankfully very few know this.
Everyone knows by now through multiple actions and observable repeated behavior that Blizzard does NOTHING good for the playerbase, or the basegame, and are only interested in taking money from you and keeping you frustrated. They actively force people to buy multiple accounts. Itâs disgusting and Blizzard should be publicly shamed if not literally imprisoned for harassment, extortion, and theft.

Yup, itâs ridiculous, I got a 10 day silence after being reported by an enemy 5 stack as well after one of them started mocking me for no reason, all I did was respond with â:)â to all of his messages in the chat.
Next day I wake up to an email from Blizzard notifying me about the ban on my account. Of course I immediately submitted a ticked to which I got a response that they apparently had enough evidence showing that I was indeed using abusive chat. When I asked for the chat log of the match in which I got reported I got a response that the ban will not will be withdrawn and any further responses from my side of any new tickets regarding the ban will be ignored.
This is how beautifully the report system works.

I feel you. I did exactly the same, I even uploaded the SS from the game with the chat log (because it was just funny their accusations of being a smurf for not dying to hook as zarya, I nabbed a ss for our discord fail channel) and Blizzard ignored it in the appeal and the entire appeal for 24h, I even replied exactly as you with only a face â:(â in chat, they have a ss of this too and I uploaded them to imgur. And I also made a thread and they put it into the grave of 404 lol.
I donât care they just lose another active player from a dying game and brand.

This is what is most broken about it, the people who are genuinely toxic and abusive in chat can be the ones with the power to ban you. Basically they can give you abuse in team chat, but it doesnât matter as they are a 5 stack, so only the team can see it. Which is of course just the 5 stack that wonât report one another and only you. You donât reply to their abuse/demands to pocket phara and they report you, while then they proceed to be abusive towards you and on top of all of this you also get banned. Well played Blizzard.
It is somwhat hilarious that you can be the target of abuse/blackmailed in team chat from toxic players who abuse the system and then also banned on top of this. While the actual toxic players are still running around initerrupted doing whatever they like. Itâs hilarious really if you think about it.
(This is of course one situation and not reflective of every one. Im sure it does ban people that warrants bans, but it definitely bans people that donât and enables people that probably should be banned themselves to remain playing without interuption and continue abusing the system. Any kind of human investigation would reveal these issues).

The challenge isnât only revenge reporting or groups reporting someone in solo queue it is also the wide range of subjectivity on what is considered toxic. Literally typed âROFLâ after I god suicide charged off the edge when he had typed âworthâ and it was listed as a reportable phrase.
They have resorted in qualifying such benign words as toxic. You canât even say âthatâs abusive chatâ or âreportedâ to someone who called you a slew of filthy words and genuinely abusive chat. In discussion with a live chat I stated âI cannot defend myself in chat? I cannot dispute their claims of me not healing enough or throwing or whatever inane accusation they make that will result in their false reports and possibly convincing others to report me?â The answer was âjust ignore them.â
So my key to surviving this horrid reporting system is leaving VC, leaving TC, leaving MC and playing as a mute because if I have the audacity of telling my team âLEFT ROOMâ notifying them a junkrat is hiding in the LEFT ROOM TO KILL THEM it will be used as ammo to KICK ME OFF THE GAME!??
What kind of travesty of a system is this where in order to be safe from the IGNORANT manning the Blizz appeals desk I must never say anything ever in case it be misconstrued and I lose my account? Again, I literally spent a MONTH complimenting folks no matter what and still got silenced. When I asked why, I got the âno further inquiry into this issue will be answeredâ bull.
Blizzard is solely responsible for this travesty of a system and folks are leaving in droves because of their ruinous decisions on how to mediate this game. Just awful.
just gonna say this isnt a blizzard only issue.
every competative onlien game is this way.
the âno shamingâ rule they all have protects the bad ppl and thus let them keep doing it w/o worry.
there are legit streamers who do this and literal video proof yet nothing happens.

Yeah in essence, donât say anything at all about anything in a team game. Donât advise your team, donât speak in any chat.
If youre going to report someone, never say you are because they will likely report you back for revenge as you say. Also report anyone that says they are reporting you, when you did nothing wrong.
That is like the only thing you can do, that will not combat it. It will give a mark against them. It doesnât help v 5 stacks when they can give 5 marks against you in 1 match and you can only give 1.
I just think its funny the system that is supposed to deter abusive behaviour actually can facilitate/fuel it, with people blackmailing you with false reports lol.
It is like we have made this system to stop toxic behaviour but it can also be used as a tool to be toxic should you desire with no repercussions. Good plan Blizzard, well thought through lol.

I mentioned this before and Iâll mention it again.
You can protect yourself from ALL âAbusive Chatâ reports by having Team chat, match chat and team voice chat all DISABLED before the match begins. You can do this in skirmish mode first. Disabling it after your match starts isnât good enough and then will only apply to the match after. If you have all three chats disabled before a match begins, all reports for abusive chat get automatically discarded by the system (since youâre clearly unable to talk or see others talk).
That wonât help vs rage cheating reports or Gameplay Sabotage, however.
yea, that is why I suggested changing the system to a game kick version. Then toxic players in QP and arcade are kicked. Yes it will be abused by an angry 5 stack you are playing widow but first, did you wanna play with them anyway, and second at least you keep your account. In Comp just do a report = time out from comp kind of like leaving comp games does and it happens after the game is over not during. Simple solution that allows consequences for true bad behavior but protects the players from true account costing repercussions for false reporting. Blizz GMs and support refused to help me in regular support and said to make a post in the forums, as if that would help.
At least I know I am not the only one suffering from this bull pooh. (they will probably report this replay as toxic for using the word pooh)

You never know what words china made Blizzard to censor! even the name of a certain location (goblin) in WoW is banned in some of their forums and especially in WC3 Refunded LUL
