So either Blizzard is filling games with bots, or people actually care enough to bot games to gain BP xp? I have been running into a lot of people who just sit afk in spawn for 30 seconds or so, till they almost get kicked. Then they run to the objective, stand there and mostly die. Repeat and rinse till game is over.
Now either the low quality bots from VS Ai are being put into games, or the anti cheating measures to stop botting is pretty bad if these obvious bots don’t get caught.
I got called a bot today. After Sombra kept killing only the healers in backline resulting in bad stats. I lol’d but it did make me think…
Honestly the “Good bots” don’t even have low stats. I watched a soldier today, seemed like they had some serious cheats running to start with, or good AI. Tons of head shots killed twice as many people as the other dps on the team… and then they just stopped.
Afk in spawn, run to objective die. Heck at one point they missed with a Soldier Ult because they kept firing into a wall… Best guess it does well enough to avoid scrutiny early on and then just throws to get matches over faster?
I had a Lucio bot Saturday. It was rough but my team still came back to win final point on flash point.
I have no clue what’s going on with the bot. if it’s a bizarre contradicting way to be lazy yet dedication to farm BP, trolling, or something else.
I had a Zarya do this today… Stood still for as long as possible before walking in a straight line to a random spot and shot at random intervals then died on objective. In quick play too
a full team of bot accounts was a thing even in OW1. The game puts you against them when you lose too much to maintain forced winrate.
Most of the time it is just one guy using 5 accounts at the same time so it is not like the anti cheat can detect anything.
Lol, I used to do something similar to this. Tear through the group like a monster, then let them cap the objective.

These are usually accounts that are levelled and sold off as smurf accounts.
its not a matter of fact that people are using bots. They are becoming bots.
They seam even more bot-like, because everyone has chat turned OFF. because of “defense matrix” rules now. So nobody wants to get into trouble.
When a person wants to game, yet a portion of the matches are not working out for them. They use the mental state of what I call “human autopilot”.
This is an example by the daily driver-commuter on the highway that has to drive to and from work everyday. I call it “commuter syndrome”. been there, done that.
A person can drive a vehicle and then completely space off about the entire trip there, and back. So much so. You could see the winning lottery numbers on a road sign, and most people wouldn’t even know what those numbers were, if at the end of the journey they were asked if they saw a unique set of Numbers.
A person would never even remember what they were.
Thats the “dismal” state a person enters.
What is happening here is, the matches are very dismal. We get lots of 1-sided stomps. very very few “fair” matches, and most of the time its the same thing over and over again.
SO people turn off chat, they are here for “pew pew pew” and start to enter that ‘trance’ of doing something to occupy the brain while still “playing”.
With leaver penalties this is going to be worse.
Leave match (leave 4 or whatever) get penalized a very long time.
The brain goes “well I dont want that, so I will do the bare minimum to satisfy the system so hopefully the next match is maybe better”.

At least the few games I watched you can’t be that bad, only “reasonable” excuse would be massive lag. I have noticed the OW servers seem to have a higher ping for me than anything else i play and not too long ago we had the warning message of “unstable server” issues.
I wonder if Blizzard went cheap on the servers again.
Have you never run into the Mercy bots?
Maybe Blizz is banning them… but a few seasons ago I saw quite a few… in comp.
Its funny… because they play only slightly worse than the occasional weekend Mercy player anyway… always pocket their duo with their team dying around them…ez to kill going for the rez on their duo… bad at GA…
I would imagine it be one the easiest hero’s to bot without getting caught. That said it is funny to watch Mercy players who never use GA on purpose…just walk around to their targets. Then after they get there the “use GA” script kicks in and goes off.
Activision have already been exposed for putting bots in the latest CoD to force wins/losses and close matches

Oh my god I got one of those in a game once! But it was really bad and kept ‘disconnecting’ from the person it was supposed to be following, so it would just… stand there… doing nothing.
LMAO… you know I wouldn’t put it passed blizzard if they fill in bots to make it look like their game is actually liked.
