Time and time again Blizzard are changing the main menu backgrounds, which is great. But every once in a while we get an eye blinding background like the current one, San Francisco Shock 2019 Champions, or another one like the Anniversary event. I’m all down for changing the looks of the menu to prevent it from turning stale, but these predominately white backgrounds need to stop.
I’m usually playing my games at night, as do most. My other monitors, keyboard, mouse and so on have dark backgrounds/colours on them. It’s easier on the eyes. When i go to open Overwatch currently, I’m bombarded with white pixels from my monitor making me squint like I’ve gone outside to see the Sun after a 2 day bender. It’s not nice.
Everything these days are going dark mode, Blizzard, can you please try to keep up? I reckon the current background would look a lot better darker regardless of whether it’s blinding or not anyway. There’s a reason why people escape out of the competitive play searching screen and back to the main menu while finding a game.
Like i said, I’m fine with the changing of menu wallpapers every month or so, but at this rate i would rather have the Sigma one playing that ugly piano tune at me on repeat. At least that background was dark.

I know man i leave ow up on the 32" all day and at night good grief its blinding
Does anybody remember the last time we had random map with random hero and equipped skin? Because Halloween comes soon following with Hero 32 and we’ve not gonna see it for a while.
It’s a shame, the last All-Stars menu was so pleasing to the eyes and I was hoping maybe it was a sign they’d learned a bit but nope.
Embrace the light, creature of darkness.

Oh look All star using non blinding background Blizzard finally LISTENED TO US!!! lol nope.
They just need to give us an option to always have the blue polygon background as the background.

No stupid characters on screen. No blinding background. Just a nice simple background that still fits the theme.
Didn’t it used to be worse? I think they just like the white because it makes the character models look good. The lighting is better
you can switch your monitor into night mode, if the picture is too bright for you.
and then switch it back every game? no thanks
Sounds like to me you have your monitor way to bright, or using a bad preset. Calibrate it and reduce your back light.
Most if not about all monitors backlight is set WAY to bright. Asus monitors are notorious for that. Most of them you have set them down to like setting 4, and and some it even lowest is still to bright. Even Contrast is set to high.
The issue is, when people do try and bring it down or calibrate “think” it looks to dull or dim, but that’s because they are used to having eye searing bright monitors. Need to give it at least two weeks for your eyes to adjust to proper calibration.
I personally have my monitor calibrated and the white is not blinding on mine.
But I do agree, most don’t know or care enough to know that monitors always come with the backlight (brightness) set way way to high.
Wasn’t last year’s owl champions background even whiter than this years?
but it allows me to make these

We really need the option to turn on some kind of dark mode. I’d love something similar to the forum theme.

Nothing beats Destiny 2’s White Screen of Death.
NO. Not everybody likes trendy dark layouts. I really dislike them. Keep it bright Blizz
