Blizzard please don’t dumpster these characters. These characters are where they should be being a damage dealer. These characters especially Sombra was hardly played to the point they was called a throw character. If this patch goes through Sombra is gonna go back to being the rare breed of players. These characters are only really really good rn is because rush comps are the go to ‘‘Meta’’ comp. Sombra doesn’t even out damage other dps characters which is fine since she has utility and people are forgetting they nerfed her none hacked damage from 8 to 7 before launch. Genji is one of the highest skill ceiling hero and if this nerf goes through it doesn’t matter if Genji is played perfectly, he will go back to being completely out killed by characters where half the skill was applied.
I do agree Sombra needs changes but a damage nerf is not it. The only change that needs to happen is bring back timed invis (infinite invis was a bad choice), bring back timed translocator and fix the hack invis + hack tech people are using. You nerf her hacked damage you dumpster the character to the point she becomes useless as damage dealer since 40% damage boost isn’t applied 100% of the time and she still doesn’t compete with highest dps WHICH IS FINE since she has utility so if you change this to 25% she will not being doing enough damage as a dps especially with the added hack limit. I’ve played Sombra since her release through the ups and downs but this will be the straw, i will never play her again and ima just play sojourn instead. Also WHY IS SOMBRA AND GENJI ON THIS LIST BUT NOT SOJOURN? A character that is basically Widow with insane abouts of movement… This isn’t the message you wanna show your community. Newer dlc heroes out gapping your older characters is not the way to go especially in a competitive game. Another example to this would be Junkerqueen was good until Kiriko came out, now shes considered one of the worst tanks in the game, not as bad as doomfist but terrible. Like i said please Blizzard this isn’t the message you wanna show your community.
For Genji don’t dumpster the hardest most unique character for a 10 second nano blade a couple times in a match which is 2/5 of your teams ult comboed for 1 fight. Genji is only a instant win when nano blade is applied. Blizzard please take a look at nano blade which is the main issue and i don’t even play this character at all.
Also please don’t nerf characters based of win rate. Win rate doesn’t = OP characters unless its abnormally really really high. Always balance from the top to down in rank on ladder, never the middle. Rein is a prime example, the higher you go the less this character becomes usable compared to other tanks. Winrate isn’t everything especially since these winrates also uses lower ranked players into the data and in low rank ANYTHING CAN WORK.
Please don’t do this Blizzard.
I for one at really happy to see those changes come through.
40% additional damage is far too high considering her weapon spread.
Genji already moves faster than every other hero (shy of Tracer) because of his passive, on top of that, headshot of 3 shuriken and swift strike is a really…. Odd break point since it insta-kills.
His extreme mobility as well as damage at close range is what people don’t enjoy (not necessarily saying I share this opinion).
- Also he moves 30% faster during dragon blade which is preposterous when you consider he already moves 7% faster than 99% of the hero roster.
The DPS hero passive of faster movement after a kill is downright unintelligent. Nobody appreciates it.
Sojourn is the new face of Overwatch. Can’t nerf the diversity hero

Hopefully more nerfs to follow.

Guys, it’s a skill-check. You should learn how to counter him and focus on your own gameplay! Switch to Mei, Reaper, Pharah, Echo - so many counters
Or I could just play Hanzo and roll them both
Haha, fair. I think people’s issue comes because they do not want to switch. I’m guilty of that myself

I main Hanzo/Ashe/Widow/Tracer/Cree and can play reaper/Pharah/Mei to at least a 2.5/2.6 (OW1) level.
Personally I still believe that swapping for the situation is the best course of action. But an overwhelming majority of the community don’t want to play this way so the devs have officially stated that they are designing hero swaps out of the concept

I think the Sombra nerf is much needed but i do think the Genji nerf is a bit too much. I think they could have done the damage or the amo nerf and it would have been fine but both is a bit much.
I dont understand why blizzard always nerfs so hard if they want balance… they should do half or less of what they usually do and see where they end up. They could alway nerf them again if it wasn’t enough.
It is really annoying when they completely trash your main and leave them as garbage for months or years.
According to Blizzard, you are no lo ger suposed to have to make switches and everything is supposed to be balanced… lol.
But realistically they do need nerfs or cc needs to make a comback especially for support!

Not agreed, Sombra should get thrown in the garbage and be forgotten there. Absolute piss of a hero, never should be allowed to me remotely good with this kit.
As for Genji, I agree, don’t dumpster him
welcome brother to the life of a genji player
Sombra is such a boring pathetic hero. Literally ruins the support experience. Sombra stays how she is now there will be 0 support players left in a few months.

Totally agree! There are already very few support players and with heros like sombra and even Genji, to a lesser extent, when support has no cc or anything to really defend themselves, there wont be any supports left.
They either need to nerf them or give supports something to deal with them.
Maybe they will finally fix the issue when has deflect up you can’t even shoot him in the back.
