Blizzard needs to contact Jagex on aimbot catching

Have been playing the past month, and have been reporting auto aims left and right. Some 60+ report confirmations of actions taken later… And its even worse than when it started.

I think blizzard needs some help fighting this issue. Because I just got out of a match with THREE of them on one team. Its nuts lol. It went from running into one every 3 matches to now… almost every match. Right now, it is genuinely rarer to find a match without one than with.

Jagex has been busting bots for years, and yeah, its a genuinely impossible task to beat 100%. But at least they could share some code and tech to help the issue out?

Otherwise… This game isn’t going to last much longer if it keeps this way.

Aimbot and player botting are two very different things based on character movement and accuracy stats. Its all complicated stuff

That and Jagex has had problems with bots for a while now. Its hard making a system where it doesn’t automatically ban bots without potentially banning legit players

What is ur fishing lvl?

It’s like comparing a bike to a sportscar
Vastly different games

Yes OW has a cheater problem, but every big shooter has a big cheater problem

There are reason why obvious aimbots are alive for longer than, we the player, think should

its not as hard as they think they can use DMCA to strike down aimbotting software kinda like how take 2 taken down gta mods and fivem

Oh and why does every big shooter still have so many issues with cheaters?

Come on, the Dunning Kruger can’t be this strong, right?

Some streamers/cc are saying that certain site is offering free trials during the weekends. That explains everything I’ve seen during the last couple of weeks.

They really need to crack down on cheaters, it’s getting a bit ridiculous to be honest.

Sure, but Jagex has developed tech that can detect clients that are color-screening the screen and ones that have hooks into the game, etc. If you think about it for a moment, its all the exact same thing. You are literally moving a mouse across the screen and clicking.

Most botting software either hooks into the game files and reads data to cheat, or uses color coding of the pixels to cheat. Both of those are issues that Jagex has tackled, and found success in combating. But the big issue is… That they don’t want to get rid of all the bots because… Well… They unfortunately make up a HUGE portion of the games active population. It would be financial suicide.

Blizzard on the other hand… does not gain anything from the hacking players, as they are not paying to access the game.

replay code, frirstly? :person_shrugging:

They don’t have to get rid of them. They just need to do the same thing they do for leavers. Lean on them to not cheat. Just increase their queue times or turn off queueing.

Or you could put all the detected cheaters and smurfs into a pool together. If it turns out they’re masters or smurfs, well you’ve matched them together fairly.

To do this their queue times might be longer. So what, less cheaters for everyone else.

Because the issue is not Blizzard not being capable but Blizzard not wanting to combat it.
Like they could sue the distributors who sell cheats for their products and worse is that these distributors are not hard to find as they are so bold they pay for google adds to be on top.

If they can’t sue the distributors directly due to them being outside of judicial reach, they can always get Google to remove the links from the search engine.

You under a rock? it’s worse right now than it’s ever been in OW history.

I honestly think they are bundling it all into next season (anti-cheat included). It’s only days away… sucks for the current high ranked players though.

Why would Blizz care if they ban legit players? The playerbase is already doing that with their easily abused report system and Blizz has yet to step in and do anything about it.

I always assumed cheats were just like you pay some guy and he sends you a sketchy executable file. I didn’t know they were selling this stuff netflix style :skull:

They even pay for google adds to be on top of search results, like Blizzard does not even have to look for the major cheat distributors yet cheaters can go rampant, this should tell us all that Blizzard simply does nothing against cheaters.

Anyone pretending OW is not infested with hackers should play on EU servers during EU night time, you will get a cheater 9/10 games on either team who will no shame aimbot and when anyone call them out on it they just say

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

You’ve just described what every single anti-cheat tries to combat.

Ah, so they found the ultimate solution to get rid of 100% of cheaters and bots, but they just don’t want to. Yeah sure

“They didn’t actually find the ultimate solution” is obviously the wrong conclusion, you’re right.
