Blizzard, implement the new COD's kernel level anti-cheat

Valorant is doing the same thing, and it is effective against cheaters.
Fortnite as well, with Easy Anticheat.

You sister company, Activision, decided to use a kernel level anti-cheat in new Call of Duty and anyone who doesn’t cheat, applauds this decision.
You should cooperate with them to bring the very same anticheat, which runs at ring 0, to Overwatch as well.

This would be the best update you have ever done to this game.
Thanks

Kernel level anti-cheat dramatically increases boot time though. That is the most obvious impact it has on computer performance.

Before that, when I got riot vanguard when during the Val beta, it gave my overwatch game a stutter every 30ish seconds until I uninstalled it.

Kernal level anti-cheats are the literal only thing that will work anymore though, as most all cheats now run in the kernal level.

I’d easily trade having no cheaters for a slower boot-up time.

I can’t really speak for the whole computer performance thing though, as Valorant’s anti-cheat has never given me any issues personally.

When I heard about CoD getting a new kernal level anti-cheat, my first thought was hoping that they’d put it in OW.

this can be easily hotfixed with a patch. Vanguard is optimised for valorant. If overwatch uses the same, the game will be optimised to this anticheat.

There isn’t any actual problem with performance, its a well known myth that happened during vanguard internet anger. Now valorant players are happy with cheater free games.

I’m good on kernel level applications. I don’t see rampant cheating in OW to want this

How do you people know what Blizzard does or not does? You don’t because Blizzard’s policy for years and years is that they don’t release any information about their anti cheat to the public.

I would be for it, so sick of cheaters in almost every game

Nothing but the most essential things to a PC should run on ring 0…

I’m gonna start laughing at these posts, what a waste of man-hours and money.

what is the point tho, arent there cheaters even with a kernel level anti-cheat. also i heard with this new call of duty cheat is that it may work for just a week or maybe even a day. someone will break it

I will uninstall the game the instant they implement kernel level anti-cheat.

The problem with Kernel level anti-cheat isn’t the performance, it’s the security issues it introduces.

that is a huge misinformation and a lie. Otherwise link the security issues that occured due to Easy Enticheat and Vanguard.

If cheats can run at kernel level it changes nothing.

playing without cheaters IS essential.

Yeah, im not letting anything but the necessaries to my PC run at Kernal…

i don’t play any game that has such an intrusive security risk anticheat, there are better methods, such as well trained human moderators…

case in point, Rust runs EAC the supposed best Spyware AHEM! “Anticheat” available, and yet its rampant with cheaters, the only way to catch and ban them is the servers have actual people patrolling the actual servers and doing it manually…

if your company makes enough money, pay people to do the job of keeping it clean, if facepunch can do it, you can do it…

A game is not essential.

why assume that they wont?
if the ring 0 complainers were that bothered about security they wouldn’t even run windows they would be on linux and avoid gaming altogether.

Kernel level anticheat is a virus and a no-go for me. If Blizzard does it, I am not playing the game anymore.

All anticheats are trash, the only true anticheat is well trained admins
