It’s pitiful that a company as big as Blizzard, now Microsoft (who owns a cloud computing platform), can’t secure its own infrastructure so that its assets aren’t compromised.
With the advent of AI which could be used to review replays for non-human characteristics in gameplay after reports, there really is no excuse.
To force players to stay in games where more often than not there are players toggling ragehacks on a whim, depending on whether it looks like they’re about to lose, is unjustifiable.
Fix your game, and until you do, fix the rules on leaving so that you don’t force honest players to share the same game with cheaters.
Please go also complain to every other AAA multiplayer game as well because they have the exact same issues. It’s not something that can be 100% fixed unfortunately unless you could make cheaters disappear from the world.
Nobody’s asking for a 100% fix. But very few other games are impacted the same way OW2 is.
Believe it or not it was possible to cheat in WoW and to some extent still is. The way this was dealt with was you reported it to a GM who would spec it and simply instaban them if they felt it was cheating. Not saying that would work here, but there are solutions.
Counterstrike had a similar concept, server mods would instaban cheaters.
Clearly Blizzard isn’t going to trust or pay people to do that, but if you read my post, having an AI to determine cheaters would solve the problem overnight.
Every game is recorded, it can be put on a queue for a trained neural net to analyze.
they are getting closer as microsoft is banning ximmers on xbox while sony and nintendo im not sure on at this time im sure they will find a way to shutdown all aimbot stuff for good soon even if it means using ring 0 to block IP addresses of known servers or computers being used for aimbotting services like as soon as the game launches it would be able to modify the hosts file or block the ip address at a kernal level
They made a post the other day with a replay code and people were pretty quick to point out the person wasn’t cheating.
IDK if the replay code is still valid, but it was a Soldier who must have been playing on a computer at like 10fps (or constant packet loss) with like 100k eDPI because their aim was all over the place. Definitely wasn’t cheating, but if this is the kind of people they play with frequently, it doesn’t surprise me that they’d think everyone was cheating.
If they play at a lower rank like bronze, I’m sure it’s filled with people with all these types of technical problems (which would also be why they’re low ranked)
You must’ve pissed Blizzard off or something because they seem to be putting every single cheater in every single one of your matches and nobody else’s. The only reason I can think of as to why I’ve only see like 3 cheaters in over a year of OW2.
I too would love to see some replay codes of these players who are just better than you cheaters.
whenever i read cheater posts i think about the blatant cheats you see on youtube and about the bots in my games claiming sometimed i am cheating because the enemies walk in straight lines.
never know which one of the two people mean.
obvious cheater or just crying for the sake of it?
Well, last time they posted a replay code, which no longer works since it’s on old patch unfortunately. The “cheater” would be lucky if they had 15% accuracy on soldier in the game. Tho the replay did look messed up, like they had packet loss, or really low frames with high sens or something. But couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn; which made it ridiculous for the OP to call it cheating.
But they make these cheating posts all the time, after seeing what they think cheating is……
With “accuracy” that your so-called “AI” can provide, there’s really no excuse to use it to detect cheats without humans. False positives would be huge
Player reports have no false positives?
In either case, a staff member checks cheater reports, sorted by amount of them, but AI can recognize anomaly aka cheater behaviour much better than emotional player who report every 3-headshot-in-a-row widow
Whenever these topics come up, I have to add that Blizzard does something very different than other AAA game publishers in terms of cheat detection. Unfortunately, they are not on a par with other companies in this regard.
This is reflected in the low sales prices of cheat software for this game as well as free undetectable cheats that are in use.
The explanation is simple, it is not speculation and can be researched by anyone.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/fRhDXsnThMs I see this same guy all the time! He wallhacks and aimbots and Blizzard won’t suspend or ban this guy. I’ve reported him so many times.
“I’m playing Sombra, he’s gonna shoot at me through the wall”
During widow ult, after you start shooting revealing your position, which actually isn’t you but Zen’s own teammate whom he can already see, which might be you (can’t see the target Sombra’s name) and you’re misinterpreting what you’re watching.
The initial snap looks sus but it’s to their own teammate and followed by what looks like faulty mouse detection.
