Blizzard caters to the dps players, what else is new

First, releasing another dps while the last new hero is also a dps.
Second, reworking several tanks into another dps.
Third, several DPS got major reworks while supports left untouch rotten in the gutter (poor zen).
Fourth, making matchmaking feels more deathmatch-y and individual-oriented.

Well, at least the maps look beautiful.
But I’m holding my wallet until i see the PvE because i’ve lost interest with the PvP.

That’s how I’m feeling in it… it’s a DPS deathmatch chaotic run and gun. Even when you win, it just doesn’t feel, like, idunno.
No team play, no strategy, no thinking, just run and shoot and run and shoot, just like every other FPS game.

I had similar experience.
It just feels so empty and generic.

As a Mei main, I’m not sure I agree.

Cause you’re run and spray and run and spray, LOL… jk

You’re gonna hold your wallet for a free update? Uh okay then

This among many many other things for me, I am a super team and support oriented person and I feel completely useless.

I love working together, protecting with heals and enabling with damage bost or other abilities and strategies like popping Valkyrie and flysneaking to the point to distract the enemy team and let mine push through, but that’s not possible anymore because everyone is treating this like a fancy objective COD lobby with some free real estate kills on supports.

supporting isn’t even a real option as main focus anymore.

if you want to live and have impact you go Moira, Lucio, Brig and maybe Ana if you feel like getting flanked a lot and then you do damage nearly the entire time.

The unbalance of characters for the DPS class is a whole other problem.
DPS is the most fun class to play, and it is a unhealthy bit bigger than both tank and support class together and that’s all needed to say to that.

This beta brings a amazing fresh look and sound design (which is actually really confusing because you never really know what sound came from which direction which gets you very unalive sometimes)

but this playstyle is not only really not my kind of cake, but also making supporting and healing pretty worthless Q-Q

Holding my wallet for buying the sequel. Otherwise i’m staying with OW1 since the pvp is a free update.

In the games I played I felt like the tank/healer combo made the winning difference. The few games I was Moira backing Orisa they were the playmakers. And every epic replay I’ve seen is focused on Tank. So I don’t know if I agree. It’s very clear there’s a real effort to make Tanks real, well, Tanks and it feels effective to me.

That’s the problem is they’re (as the title states) more than obviously catering to the DPS that just want to farm ults off of tanks and support. They are soooo happy right now saying overwatch 2 is amazing because they know, but don’t want to admit, that it’s all DPS focused and teams don’t matter.

Every game I’ve been in has been a deathmatch, and as soon as the enemy team starts losing, they immediately switch to one of the completely op broken DPS and start murdering everyone, Soldier and Sojourn. You can almost hear them mouth breathing louder as they get to freely melt everything.

It doesn’t make sense that these kinds of players even WANT to play Overwatch, because all they want is a headclick simulator FPS just like all the others they could play. This is why they hate shields, healing, and other abilities so much.
And instead of making OW2 the next step in a great IP, the devs are turning it into a non team based run and gun and get your K/D ratio DPS game.
They might as well get rid of roles at this point from what I’m seeing.

It is a beta…no all heros are get worked on. Also, at the Release Overwatch has more new heros.
This beta is only here because people want to see something new. I am 100% sure without the crying about content, we won’t have a beta now . Maybe in 6 month

Correction: They cater to hitscan and heros with the BS gimmick called one shots

These changes are alienating people who liked how Overwatch has always been prior to this. This is the only PvP game I play because it used to be more than just click heads. It was about strategy and outplaying the enemy. Now its just “Oh you had a cool elaborate plan? Doesnt matter, the enemy hit more headshots than you did.” If these changes go live I probably will never pick up the game again because its just not the same game anymore, its just another shooter. If I wanted a team deathmatch, theres plenty of other options out there. Apex’s alternative modes already exist.

You say this as if they don’t plan on adding anymore new heros to Tank and Support, which is false.

What several tanks? Orisa is literally the only tank that received an ACTUAL rework. Reinhardt, Winston, and Zarya just got ability changes, nothing special. And yeah, tanks would have to be more brawl-like in order for 5v5 to work I feel, since there’s no second tank to back up the other one.

Yea, the new sound design is causing a spatial issue for me. But Anna’s new weapon sound is one of my favorite. Feels like i’m getting more shots with the new sound.

And yet the first hero they chose to announce (and released) is DPS. They could have chosen new tank since it is the biggest changes to 5v5, but noo here’s another DPS.

My point still stands.
