I played one game of season 9 on circuit royale in qp and tbh didn’t notice a significant differnce. But from what these forums are indicating, these changes were really, really, reeeeaaaallly bad.

But only through a strongly worded wall of text essay, as they angrily sip their non-dairy creamed cup of morning Folgers, completely oblivious to the fact they can do something about it themselves if they just took the initiative.

Just curious, what could they do to change the balance themselves? All they can really do it post on forums and similar social media. And of course, the devs never read these things so I’m just curious how it would work
That’s changes for you. Some people like them. Others don’t. These forums represent only a fraction of the population. And we really don’t know what that is, nor do we know the % of the forum population that don’t like the changes.
Then we have whatever percentile that tend to have knee jerk reactions to any and everything. We also have those who will grow to enjoy the changes.
I’m playing Zen in comp and making necessary adjustments and trying to learn how to be more effective instead of crying about the sky falling.

You’re moving the goalposts.
It’s not that they can adjust the balance themselves (even though to a certain extent they’re capable of it with custom games), it’s that they can make worthwhile actions that back up their stances forcing the change they seek.
You say that players will riot, when they’ll simply spend the next couple of months whining about balance, while playing the game, spending money, and whining some more while reminiscing with rose tinted glasses about how good things used to be (when they still whined anyway).
Ask yourself: does that sound like a riot?
Or they could stop, interaction enables engagement.
Are you aware of the definition of insanity?
(But also the Pharah changes are in line with suggestions I made years ago, coincidence?: overwhelmingly likely, but I like to think they listened to someone who knew what they were taking about 
)

They just had massive layoffs. Their game is going to fail wth the massive loyal fanbase feeing angered with this update. If there were layoffs after record profits, imagine what will happen with none at all. And hows the E Sports scene going to take these changes? They actively hurt them as well because a game winning play could be dependent on a shot that missed in normal circumstances but hit cause of the bigger projectiles
Fans are angry but they are NOT leaving, they are hooked on complaining.
Blizzard can give them the whole shop for free and they will STILL complain.
