Blizzard anti cheat useless

Will Overwatch EVER FIX THEIR GAME TO NOT ALLOW CHEATERS? I have lost 4 straight games going against the same DPS duo that are both walling and soft aim locking. I really dont get it. Million dollar company cant make a reliable anti cheat. Overwatch is an absolute joke now

I’ve seen a couple news headlines over the past couple days claiming that Blizzard have just banned some 2,500 cheaters all using some new hack.

But clearly they’re drops in a bucket… it sucks.

As a side note, has any games company been able to make a reliable anti-cheat? Every competitive game community I know of seems to complain about rampant hacking. And plenty of those games are owned by big buck corps as well.

Just won a match with a Widow/Ashe/McCree (same player) that was using one of the new Soft-Snaplock Aimbots. They were not even trying to hide it. I have no problem calling them out in game. My team got toxic because I called out the enemy player for cheating and they were all “They are not hacking, they are just good!” Its really sad how little this community knows of how bad the cheating problem is with 3rd Party Applications that dont inject code into the exe or dll files to trigger Warden.

3 games prior I had a hanzo doing exactly what you described, targetting through walls (not with Sonic Arrow) and peak head shotting everyone that he didnt have any line of sight on.

All we can do is expose them in game, ask for them to get reported and hope they have POTG to show they got an aim-cheat of some sort. Its really lame otherwise. a lot of the community is very ignorant to how large the cheater player base is, and depending on rank, the ones who deny that other players are cheating in your activate match, are likely a cheater themselves.

Its getting harder to spot, but most of the careless brazen ones are easy to see.

Hackers are super common. You see them flaunting it like they don’t care with their 80% accuracy McCrees and 90% Accuracy crits with Widow in gold on brand new accounts. Blizzard doesn’t have the funds to fight it constantly so they don’t. Is what it is. Just realize you’ll lose to hackers often and despite what many here would say, no your SR does not represent exactly where you belong. Give or take 200 or so SR due to these hackers. Not that 200 SR makes a whole lot of difference but still.

do you realize that cheats are like real life viruses? they constantly change and once you detect one it has “mutated” and you need to catch up again?

you can only react to new cheat programs

technically it’s not hackers but people buying stupidly expensive hacks, they just use them, and probably have not the slightest idea how they work

Oh absolutely I realize it. That’s why they are common. Also that’s the reason why they stuck in gold. They aimbot but have ZERO game sense. So they die to the easiest counters. Despite that many don’t know how to actually counter them by just picking Winston or Dva and diving them.

Well no matter how good your anti-cheat is people will develop a new cheating software that isn’t picked up by the anti-cheat yet, unfortunately there really isn’t much more Blizzard can do

im starting to see it happen more and more as the weeks go by and the holidays have just increase the amount, as kids are off school for the holidays

this clearly shows what i mean, player has been reported and but the player clearly was openly displaying it until i call him out, there is cheating going on that isnt called out as people will go super toxic if you do or your team starts going toxic on you

i would like to see blizzard openly address this issue and jeff needs to tell players and show players that this kinda thing isnt tolerated, i know they do alot in the background but its time they start communicating with the player base more with whats going on to address this as they will start to lose more and more players

It’s even easier for these cheaters to play when Blizzard has devalued their game by constantly putting it on sale for $10 or less. That’s chump change for an account to screw around on with hacks. But Blizzard is ok with this because banning one account usually means another will be purchased.

Hail hydra.

Put mobile authentication on every account. All of a sudden only the serious smurfs and serious cheaters are around.

Hey you might want to upload a video with his name blurred, or don’t post it on this forum. It’s against blizzard policy (which I don’t agree with), but still.

Omg This happens more often than it should. You could have a Widow grapple into the air and- BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM…”Team Kill!”, before she even touches the ground, and everyone will be like “Wow! He’s sooooooo good! I wish my salty team mate would stop accusing people of cheating and just accept that he sucks at the game!”

I get how we shouldn’t dissolve into a guilty until proven innocent mindset, but people really need to open their eyes to the kind of cheats out there. Not every hack involves reticles instantly locking onto heads, as many of the high quality ones are extremely subtle. Even the guy Dafran was showing off the gameplay footage of another player, and for several minutes into the match, it appeared that he wasn’t using any cheats. But one instance showed his bot getting confused between who the player wanted to lock onto, and it snapped to Dafran’s character in an instant.

Thank you for being willing to call out and report cheaters. I’ve tried doing my part by recording gameplay and submitting videos to hacks@blizzard.com

Epic games has done a really good job at keeping fortnite 99% cheat free. Cheating there comes with very harsh punishments.

dont know about that, they are plagued with the same cheats as overwatch. all the Screen Scan / Pixel bot cheats from here are on there too

But how will a small independent company like Blizzard earn any money if they aren’t selling new accounts to old users?!?!?!

Nope. Try googling for fortnite cheats and you wont find any. The only one’s you’ll see are old footages masked as free cheats or detected ones that ask you to take part in surveys to get.

You also get your pc banned so unless you prefer buying new parts on the daily you’re welcome to cheat on fortnite.

On top of that you never see any streamers, content creators or forum/reddit posters talk about encountering cheaters at all.
