I don’t think that’s going to work. Supports are mostly backline heroes, and shotgun heroes lack range altogether. I doubt they would function unless you give them busted mobility or self-sustain.
Make Reaper a support. His ult is “HEAL HEAL HEAL”. No? Ok. I’ll see myself out.
Brig exists, and I presume a shotgun would probably have more range than her flail does.
Brig does have self-sustain and defence, though. She has a shield, armour and a self-heal. She works because enemies come to her as she is a bodyguard for her other support/DPS. In spite of that, she still has to run away and preserve distance more often than not.
If they gave a supp a shotgun it would probably be closest to coach gun
And none of them are fun or worth using. As much as I want a shotgun support, just imagining that weak and pathetic buckshot makes my stomach lurch.

Clearly “someone called the whambulance” is the buff she needs to her ult line.
Just give them a ranged ability. That shotgun would be wonderful if the support pushes forwards with the tank or a flanker tries to get them.
Brig has a 6 meter range mace after all and it works fine
Pick Roadhog and select the major perk that also heals teammate and you have your shotgun support.
Shotguns are the lamest weapon, a big reason nobody likes to play tank, you got too many boring shotgun tanks.

Symbiotic Drone - Places a drone over an allies head. Thats it. Thats the ability. No cooldown.
Heal burst- 16 second cooldown (Or whatever, point is: its a long cooldown). Press the ability, and an AoE heal burst is emitted from the drone. The drone target receives full healing, everyone in the AoE receives a reduced amount (Say half)- This includes the support themself. If the target hasnt taken damage across last X seconds, the drone will produce a lower heal over time (think zen orb).
Leech Gun: Shotgun that fires leeching pellets. Each pellet landed, refunds x-time off of the heal burst cooldown. 2-3~ shotgun blasts worth of pellets would be enough to refill that cooldown entirely. Dynamic spread on the shot gun - Have the first shot be fairly “tight”, but as they continue to fire, have the spread of the shotgun bloom out. This lets them poke a bit more consistently with a careful / slower firing rate so theyre not entirely crippled by range- But lay out some damage and solid healing up close.
Some kind of dodge/dash/etc as a mobility/escape.
And thazzit, thats my shotgun support. Relatively “run and gun” support- Intent is to have strong healing output, if theyre landing shots, with a bit of repositioning. No nefarious insta save buttons. No frustrating CC. Just the ability to reposition, damage, and heal, rewarding a bit of mechanical skill. If they miss their heal burst and arent landing shots, itll drop their healing out put a good chunk, if theyre landing their shots, they can dole out quite a lot of healing. The point to having the drone do a small heal over time “out of combat” is so they can top everyone between team fights, but the end purpose is to rely on the burst to do effective healing while actually fighting.
