Blizz makes a mockery of your time

I played five games when the season started and after the first it was immediately obvious something was up with matchmaking due to how ridiculous the game was playing out. I ended up only winning one game out of those five and stopped because something was not right and I wasn’t dealing with it.

I then came to the forums to see all the talk about the rank reset which explained why the games felt once again like when season 1 started and it was a hodgepodge mess of people from all skill levels being tossed randomly into matches.

If they think that anyone but the most hardcore players are going to waste their lives grinding back out of the cesspool again to get where they supposedly “should” be according to Blizzard, only to then be ranked back out of there for the next season to be thrown back into the pits of despair on this hamster wheel from hell, they are smoking some serious crack.

I’m done with comp, I’ll be playing some quick play matches here and there just to get some Ramatra time in, but otherwise I’m finding something better in life to put my precious time towards that isn’t going to make a mockery of it like blizzard is doing.

So they want you to do your best to climb to your “true” rank each and every season? Hey Blizz, how am I supposed to know my true rank if you keep knocking me back to square one every season? Are you going to buy off my bosses at work so they give me extra vacation time to find these hours out of thin air that I’m supposed to put towards the grind? If my true rank is GM, where do you think I’m finding the hundreds of hours to put into the game each season reset to get there? I will never get there even if I really had the potential to because it’s impossible to find the hours to grind back any further than where I was at the end of the season before you kicked me back down the ladder again. How does this not make sense to you people?

I have a better idea… just how about no? What rules from which marketing playbook are they using for this decision? What scientific study did they read this time that showed them that doing this equals more engagement and therefore is going to hopefully get players to spend more money?

This will be the absolute last season battle pass I pay for that’s for sure.

It’s using the same MMR. It’s not matching based on rank.

The change in match quality is from casual players coming back to check out the new season, not any match making differences.

Bull. And everyone with a functioning brain knows it because you can see it in the game. It’s apparent. If it was a pure continuation of what it was using the day prior you would not have as many people as you do here just like I am pointing out how we notice immediately the games on day one of season 2 were absolute garbage.

Then how can casual players coming back after a hiatus have the same MMR of someone who climbed two ranks and has been playing the entire season?

Imma be honest every time there has been a reset back on OW1 there was always a period of where QP or Comp matches were very volatile on getting people nowhere near you in skill whether it be people with the mechanics of a rock or Top 500s. It normally lasted for about a week to 2 weeks. Even then OW1 had always felt like you either steamroll the other team or they steamroll you. I’ve been through Silver, Gold, and Plat. All of those ranks all felt like 95% of either team was going to steamroll and the other 5% were games that came down to the wire on OT.

I guess what I am saying is that it’s not uncommon for this to happen especially at the beginning at the reset. I have also experienced the same thing on other games with Comp such as Rainbow and Apex
