Blizz listen : nerf tracer buff junkrat

If you really hear your communnity why none of these two happen

because only a junkrat main would ask for junk buffs

as much as i feel bad for rat mains, id rather the hero stay in the dirt then to blindly “buff” junk

rework junk, sure im 100% down for that.

but no buffing, buffing a hero with such a poor design only leads to that hero being nerfed even harder later on

How do you think he should be reworked when he can’t have burst, cant have strong spam and can’t have cc? That’s his entire kit and when we really boil things down he’s a ground Pharah. He needs something but Blizzard have arbitrarily decided nothing in his kit can work.

idk replace trap with something cool and go from there

his entire kit was designed to spam and hold space, but his playstyle deviated from that since that playstyle isnt fun or effective on most maps

thats why his kit has to be reworked

why not lower the dmg of his nades, make them faster (and give him more nades) and give him a new ability to replace the trap

it would all depend on what the new ability was, because you would build around that

He can’t hold space if he isn’t threatening and it’s that simple. His ttk at any range outside of melee is too slow to hold space but he’s also not allowed to have burst.

He can’t have spam because that’s annoying.

Dps can’t have strong cc so trap buffs are off the table.

Area denial isn’t allowed either, see Mei.

Even if they leaned into his primary being more consistent he’d still just be ground Pharah and irrelevant since she’d be better in every scenario.

His issue is that he can’t reliably kill anything, can’t exist within his effective range and even if he hits 100% of his shots the ttk is too slow. This makes it even worse.

The devs need to move on one of these issues.

Eh nah, Junkrat is fine. He’s still annoying to me.

Buffing counters to a hero effectively nerfs them.

thats the nature of playing junkrat

hes entire niche is explosives but their is a flying hero with that niche as well

you take what you can get

i proposed nerfing the dmg a small bit so its still 3 to kill a 250 (bout 85 dmg each) but so you wouldnt kill a 350 target

but give him a significant buff to his projectile speed and maybe evne fire rate, and more ammo

plus his mine being mobility/dmg and a new ability that could be dmg focused that in theory could solve the problem

you take away the cheesy feeling of being killed in 2 hits but you could make it feel more consistent and change his effective range

as i said, alot of what you would do. would depend on what you replace his trap with

if for instance its a sticky bomb version of his current mine, that would mean you could stick someone then toss out 2 bombs then detonate the sticky and they die (thats 290 dmg)

so hed have normal mine which could deal dmg or be used for mobility AND a sticky bomb version he could manually detonate that could do 120 dmg or so

so 85+85+120 (new ability) = dead target

or any combo you could imagine

Why must Junkrat be able to instakill when Hanzo/Widow/Hog lost their one shots?
That’s the whole point of Season 9, no burst one shots. Junkrat is in-line with everyone else now.

I swear Junkrat mains only ask for OP because they were intoxicated with how OP he was the whole 8 season before this.

widow can still 1 shot

240 damage crit, she does not one shot anyone at 250 HP.

I’d be happy to try it but this falls under burst. So…

His effective range is when he’s close enough to hug you but doesn’t have a way to survive in that range and if he doesn’t kill something essentially instantly he just dies. Beyond that effective range you can literally step out of the way. That’s why.

And when exactly junkrat oneshoted people?

Hanzo and Widow are snipers and could one shot from long distances so was hard to fight them besides hiding.

Hog is a tank where at long range u cant deal enough damage to kill him so u need to get closer putting u in range of hes one shot, this + a large health pool didnt leave much room for countering.

Junkrat, even with 250 hp now will lose to supports in a close range environment, the place where he should strive. Junk no longer has a proper role. Cant Flank as you cant deal enough damage to kill supports before they TP away or just have equal chance at killing him. You can just stick with tank and spam but you might aswell play any other dps in most games and youll be healping your team so much more.

Finally someone who understands ToT

This is something people who don’t main the hero aren’t really grasping yet. You can genuinely walk into a small room with Junkrat now and assuming you hit your shots, win the 1v1 on almost every hero. That should never be a thing. He doesn’t have any strengths anymore.
