Blizard, There's no greater gitf other than for you to give Reaper an actual dance emote

Good day to everyone.

I, as a self-proclaimed Reaper main, and frequent visitor/organizer of Chill & Music server in Custom Game Mode would like to express my desire to see Reaper, the character that I religiously use as my avatar in the chill server to engage in various social activities with my good internet comrades, to have a real chance of getting to participate in group dancing with fellow chillers.

In no way I am suggesting that his original ‘Dance’ emote is bad, in fact, the first time the animation revealed itself before my eyes, I experience such great joy of seeing my main hero getting quite a uniqe interpretation of ‘dancing’.

Of course, he’s too edgy to dance!” I giggled.

The quality of the emote was well executed, especially if he’s wearing his BlackWatch Origin skin. His facial expression says it all, a man whose torturing sense of ego prevent him from expressing his enjoyment of rhythm, only a small fragment of humanity that’s able to escape and manifest itself through meaningful foot-tapping.

However, now that it has been years since the release on the emote, the joke about Reaper as ‘The Ultimate Adgelord’ seems to become more and more of a one-joke that everyone laughs at once in a while, Reaper’s recent apprearences in various material (such as in comics and Archives events) says otherwise about his personality. He turned out to be someone with a good sense of humor, and while he remains his dark side, he’s also too in on the joke, too self-aware to be a real adgelord.

While Reaper’s personality can still be up to debate, the practicality of the emote did not age well. His dance emote defeats its purpose, to dance. And to not be able to dance, robs Reaper main the opportunities to use him in social gathering occasions

While players in Chill server are having fun, using several characters to emote the dance while listening to ‘Love Shack by the b-52’s’ though match voice chat, one character is unable to express much of a will to appreciate good music through body movements and thus, is not a popular character among the chillers, is Reaper. It is important for me to be able to dance with my friends with a hero that I’ve grown to love and feel attached to the most.

I intended to inflate the language despite my lack of knowledge and poor execution of English in the hope that people will find my desperate attempt to be somewhat worth pointing finger and laughing at so that it will at least gain some attention, and ultimately get noticed by Blizzard.

So to the people that can grant me my wish, please, give Reaper an actual dance.

In my vision, in contrast with Jack Morrison who lost his sense of rhythm in exchange with the license to wear ugly sandal while being gay, Reaper turns out to be the great dancer, a kind of riveting spectacle in the dance club that would attract all kinds of crowds surrounding him in awe.

Please, make my wish come true, quench my thirst, fulfill my dream, make me whole.

Thank you all.

And I got the perfect dance timestamped here:

I actualy like his “dance” emote more than most dances in the game, and was chilling with it a lot
But carry on, more emotes for reaper are not bad idea :man_shrugging:

I want a legendary emote for Reaper where he just keeps throwing guns on the ground and it loops.
McCree: “You weren’t given those guns to throw them around like trash.”
Reaper: “Observe.”

They should have a second dance for basically everyone. They are pretty much the only emotes worth using outside of a handful of sitting emotes.

The dance at 5 : 40 would be perfect for him

That doesn’t fit Reaper’s character though. Making him dance simply doesn’t work

Or he tries to reload, but fails

There’s a lot of characters in Overwatch who doesn’t seem to be the dancing type, yet they made it work, the reason that reaper got this ‘dance’ because of its time, it’s simply a nice funny meme.

Moira’s dance works because she looks to be the type who likes rock music
Doomfist’s works because that looks to be the type of music he likes
Reaper doesn’t dance because he’s either too grumpy or he is too scared of the pressure

In all honesty, People can just simply justify any kind of dance to him with any kind of reasons.

“Of course, he does the Fortnite dance because he represents an edgy teenage”
“Right!, he would do a metal headbanging because he’s so metal!”
"Sure, he does a slow dance, because he’s actually a soft boi deep down "
“Ah certainly!, He does the A B C D cringy meme dances because he’s an edgelord”
