Bliz punishes for playing with friends?

I just read somewhere that if you are teamed up with 1 or 2 friends, then blizz will put your group in a wide range of ‘random’ team mates which has been a terrible experience.

So match making will be more balanced if you play alone?

Depends how far apart the friends are. If they are 3 plat players it should be fairly similar, other than often facing other groups. If it’s a silver, a plat, and a gm, yea the games will be all over the place as that group has players in 2 different extremes.

That’s a lie. Me and my wife duo all the time, we’re both the same rank, and the matchmaker still puts us all over the place.

The wide grouping is for if your in a wide ranked group, not just in a group.

You’ll see the wide group icons when you group up whether you are put to the wide group pool.
This is in role queue.

If you play open queue everyone is essentially in wide group pools, even solo players.

Groups / Stacking is basically cheating in this garbage matchmaking. You have an unfair advantage and still complain?

Is that where we’re at now? A duo is basically cheating? Really?

Can’t win any other way I guess.

I’m usually a solo player in Overwatch 2. The duos I tend to see are barely functional players more than they would ever, even remotely, be considered having such an advantage as to be cheating.

It is complete insanity to even say that. A four stack playing well together is, without question, an advantage. But cheating? Come on. I would love a solo queue, but at this point it doesn’t seem like we’ll ever really get that.

So two rookies pairing up is now a cheat? …

If you’re new then that’s the matchmaking doing its job for once. It’s the smurf / alt accounts being invited into groups bypassing and abusing the matchmaking resulting in one-sides games that randoms have no chance of winning.

cry harder, its a team game. I want to play with team mates

Well congrats on your lack of solo skill I guess.

yeah, congrats on me not wanting to work with a tank, who ignores my pings.

when I say reaper behind you. my friend actually turns and listens…such a lack of skill

Unless the group is filled with top500 players, stacking often doesn’t make it any easier. You just get to face other groups who might actually communicate with each other more, and be more willing to play meta. Many groups of friends just playing with each other trying to have a good time.

That is basically cheating compared to the standard OW2 level of play. :joy:

teamwork? I mean yeah I guess… everyone talks about solo queueing but like…I never see anyone actually communicating in the game (Aside from blowing off steam and “smack talking in global”)

Last night I was with friends who were perma-low-bronze denizens. Lost 9 games in a row, then finally broke for dinner. After I returned and played solo, won 3 games straight. Sometimes you have to roll with the punches…

It puts my friend and I with other duos if they’re not a 3 stack. Then it puts us against very coordinated 5 stacks. We’re both the same rank. I can tell they’re 5 stacks because it often matches us against the same team. We were complaining about it yesterday. Seems to always be Doom and Genji every game. It’s so annoying for us on support.

Isn’t that just you bringing the punishment yourself?
