Is it fair to blame 1 person for a c9 even though the whole team wasnt on point? Today that happend to me. I was the only one on point on temple 2nd point and i lost the 1v1 vs sombra because she hacked me before my shot hit her.
I was dead, the others c9nd. I got blamed and apprently reported by my team for losing the 1v1 and thats why the c9 is “my fault”.
Can I really be blamed for it? I mean shouldn’t the whole team protect the point?
Yes, at the very least a healer should’ve been with you. If they are gonna leave someone vulnerable to Sombra alone when they know there is a Sombra, they don’t deserve the win and it is entirely their fault.
In fact, I would even go so far as to say you’re the only without fault because at least you tried.
Second of all, THATS NOT EVEN A C9. Does no one know what a C9 is anymore?
It’s when the entire team goes off the point at the same time trying to kill the enemy. You were on the point then died, and since no one else was, you lost. That’s not a C9.
Thats team stupdity.
If you know the enemy is running a Sombra and the point youre trying to defend is close to be captured then you dont task just 1 hero standing on it unless its a tank which cant easily be killed.
I’m hoping that the person can hold the point until more people can get there, but I’m not going to blame them if they can’t.
There have been times when I tried my best, but I just couldn’t hold it by myself.
It wasn’t my fault, and it when it happens t you it wasn’t your fault.
They’re the ones that got killed, not you.
Maybe they should try not dying if they’re going to yell at you for the same thing.
People will call out “lol c9” even when it’s a simple matter of you not being able to reach the point in time. It’s pretty much another “ez” comment at t his point.
Eh. Yes and no. You definitely do have a responsibility to be able hold it against the very minimal contestion that you will face, or at least survive long enough for your team to get back and help. However, things happen. You can get booped or one-shot etc. However during Overtime (which I assume is what we’re dealing with - since that’s when C9s cost you the game) the team shouldn’t leave you because it is reliable. Hell, if it’ll win them the game, someone could solo Ult you to guarantee the kill. Not much you can really do on your own in such a case.
Sombra either capped or defended the point successfully (unclear what side she was on)
Your five living teammates never even noticed while they were out kill hunting
If I’m getting this right, then you were the only person who didn’t c9 in that case, and they’re just looking for an easy scape-goat to blame literally anyone else but themselves.
The only potential blame you could get is for not saying something to them to try to get them to come back because they’re c9’ing. But they certainly shouldn’t be blaming you when they’re the ones who never went to the point.
It comes from the team Cloud9 and their history of prioritizing kill hunting over actually capping the point. They lost a couple easily winnable matches simply because everyone would run off of the point and let Overtime tick down against them.
Happened so much that the general act of ignoring the point for the kills is just coined as a c9 nowadays.
How does it not make sense?
Are you controlling the other players?
No.
They are playing their own characters.
Each player adds something to it.
If you cannot do something, then there still should be other people performing.
I seriously don’t understand why people keep misusing c9. It’s a pretty simple concept - If you’re winning the fight but get off the point to chase more kills causing you to lose the obj, that’s a c9. If you’re losing the fight and no one can get on the point, that’s not a c9. That’s just a normal loss.
On topic, your team should’ve backed you up. They played dumb, got embarrassed and tried to blame you. Their fault.
