Supports got a lot on their shoulders now with the scoreboard. If the team loses and a support has high damage, low healing. Blamed. If they have high healing and low damage. Blamed. God bless the supports
The new scoreboard is very misleading. Seems to me like shield dmg is being counted? I like it when they had the hero dmg stat.
definitely should be changed to hero damage if that’s true.
Tanks are currently able to do too much dmg compared to a dmg character.
as a support main i can confidently say ow1 was less toxic. now you have even more ppl feeding their brains out and blaming you for not healing them through 5 solid walls.
I haven’t been blamed once yet as support. Though I did just play a game as DPS waiting for the tank to go in. Then the tank just sat there looking at me then blamed me for losing for not going in first lol. Anyways as is the golden rule of OW, the person who blames others is the weakest link on your team.
I really only use the scoreboard for one thing
Me
I can’t have absolute control of someone else and am not playing from their perspective.
For myself, I can view what I might need to be focusing on more and start dialing in on when I can do it. It serves as confirmation to what limits I should be pushing.
It also offers an idea on which enemy is possibly the highest threat, but by the time you need to check you should already know
My issue as a support player right now is when I play lucio. Im the type thats actively trying to give my team speed boost because at the end of the day “you don’t have to heal anyone if they aren’t taking any damage to begin with”. The problem is, the score board cant actually measure this as a stat. All players are gonna see on a lucio player are low heals and high damage. The lucio players I see with high heals are the ones that never used speed boost which is actually really bad because lucio’s true value comes from his speed. Players are being toxic towards lucio players and its starting to annoy me. The scoreboard is very misleading and I feel 90% of the community focuses too much on those stats when they start to lose.
Yeah it’s a problem you can’t see “utility” on the scoreboard.
But adding more stats to it would be too confusing.
So what you’re saying is that feature that folks cried out for (a scoreboard) despite people warning it would be used in a toxic manner is… being used in a toxic manner.
I like to see it on my Moira plays. If I’m hitting 22k healing but less than 15k dmg, I try to dmg a little bit more.
I just got flamed by a guy even tho I had double everyone’s score in elim and healing as zen. Always our fault.
I got blame as kirito dpsing when my healing is the same as my damage, with my k:d ratio being 3 to 1, rivaling the dps kill score.
Not gonna lie, depending on the DPS hero, if your damage is under a Support, there are some issues. If someone were to say like, Support has more damage than our Mei or whatever, I can understand because Mei is Mei. I can understand the damage being higher and have no problem with it. But if a Soldier has 2k damage and the Moira or Ana or Zen is past that damage, that Soldier is a problem and needs to step it up.
Honestly, it’s just a bunch of influx players that are new to overwatch trying to find people to blame for losing, just ignore it.
Like OW1 the game is much better with the text and voice chat turned off. We have the pings now which could do 90% of what VC could, if people would actually use them.
I blame the useless snipers wasting team slots in arcade. All they do is watch us die while not killing anything.
I will never bash a support for having monster heals but little in the way of damage and eliminations. I always choose them for my two nominations at the end of the match, without fail. If a Support has next to nothing for healing but monster damage and eliminations I don’t give them jack. Not that the nomination thing really matters.
It’s Arcade. If you want people to actually want to try, consider playing ranked. 90% of the time, people actually try there.
Been there done that. They don’t.
