Alright, so, i was looking in the Hero Gallery today and thought: “You know what, i dont have a lot of Legendary skins for Rein, i think i’ll buy one.”
Well, then i saw the Black and Blood skins, and thought they looked cool. But, i saw they have an axe, instead of a hammer. Well, as some of you may know, I have a thing about voice lines matching the skins that you equip.
So, my question is:
What does Rein say for his Ult in those skins?
I want to know, because if he says “Hammer Down!” (while using an axe), im not going to waste credits on it, because thats going to bug me. I’ll just buy a hammer skin, instead, like Crusader or something

If you’re gunna buy a Reinhardt skin, buy his Crusader skin. If you already have Crusader, save your credits for the next event. No reason to blow them on a skin you can just get out of a lootbox.
It wouldn’t be timed right to say AXE DOWN.

Also, since i have you here, Rein’s Guan Yu skin from LNY has an axe too. Do you know if he still says “Hammer Down!” for that one as well?
Well, just something related to it would be nice. I hear the “Football” one says “Touchdown!” So, they could make different lines for these axe skins.
And it was bugged for the longest time because the phrase was shorter, giving less time to react to it by sound.
What would be said for Bloodhardt?
Maybe “Axe blade Down”? same amount of syllables as “hammer down”. Just an idea.

The axes have a different hitting sound than hammers. So at least, you got that going for you.
According to the quote page, only Gridironhardt (Summer Games) has a changed quote for his ultimate, where it says “Touchdown!” instead of “Hammer Down”.

He doesnt say hammer down coz he has a hammer (well he does but not solely on that) he says it because the word hammer down symbols the act of putting justice in motion so yeah
And crusader might bug you so watch out.

I think you and I have had this discussion before. Haha. Personally, I always took it as a literal thing oh, so when he doesn’t have a hammer, and then says “Hammer down!”, i just find it a little weird.
Why would Crusader bug me? Doesn’t he have a hammer for that skin?
The head is way too small. Like literally its way too small when look at it in the shield cam

Yeah that skin bugs me so hard for it. Alot of people like it i dislike personally
The voice lines are the same for Blood/Blackhardt, but it does come with slicing sounds for hitting stuff with the axe.
Gridironhardt has a different voice line for Earthshatter and some pretty funny bonking sounds when hitting people with the giant trophy.

the real solution is to use japanese voice over and pick axe.
My go-to skins as Reinhardt are to fit my skin themes.
I tend to try and set themes across all of my skins, so my main two are Paragon and Griefhardt.
Paragon fits my “clean/golden/white/regal” theme set, and Griefhardt fits my “Medieval/mystical” Theme set.
Blackhardt and Crusader are my preferred skins. I like the Dynasty Rein skin too (I like how black and gold go together ie I use midnight Zarya with golden gun). The first lunar new year skin is good too. I don’t like the sports skins (for any heroes… just seems… odd).
For what’s its worth, I don’t think you’ll notice the sound effect for long 
IMO, that doesn’t sound right at all. It isn’t just the number of syllables, it’s the cadence, the flow of the sentence.
