Birthday patch notes!

It’s my birthday so I finally decided to post my own patch notes draft type thing. All of it is just my personal thoughts on some hero changes I would like to see but most likely will never happen but it’s nice to imagine it. Some changes have noted explains them, some don’t. I also added some old bits from previous post I made regarding certain heroes.

Ana:

  • Now has a timer (similar to widowmaker) that applies to her and nano-boosted target to see it’s duration

Ashe:

  • B.O.B Ai improved. No longer shoots full health Zarya bubbles or Genji when deflect is being used.
  • Ashe can press her ult button a 2nd time while Bob is running to get him to stop in place. It will look like she’s whistling at him to stop. The audio cue will alert enemies that BOB is stoped and it can be a trade off since B.O.B doesn’t have the change to hit someone for damage. Helps him have more potential in maps with cliffs and edges.

Baptiste:

  • Replace regen burst with something else.

Notes: This has nothing to do with the ability being too good or bad. It’s just the most uninteresting ability in the game.

Why did anyone think that this ability would be “fun”? It’s invisible AOE heals that you just press and forget. It’s like a lúcio aura without the amp/speed switch nuance or brig inspire without the need to extend and hit someone to trigger it. I think he’s overturned but I personally don’t have a solution. Regen burst however has bothered me since his launch and since it’s the least obvious/flashy part of his kit (and only source of self heal) it’s always left out of discussions.

Brigitte:

  • Rally triggers inspire upon activation
  • Speed boost from rally removed
  • Rally aoe increased by 10%
  • Shield bash damage boosted from 5 to 10.
  • Barrier Heatlth -50.
  • Base health +25

Notes: The most controversial thing here is most likely her health buff. At the end of the day brig needs to get up close to enemies to trigger inspire so she should be less squishy than most heroes with more consistent ranged options or mobility. Her pro play stats shouldn’t hold her back across all other ranks and I included the barrier nerf to partially compensate the added health. I know she’s very good in pro-play but that 1% of the playerbase shouldn’t hold her back. Other than this she probably needs a whole rework and I don’t know what that would look like.

Bastion:

  • I have no idea, maybe the experimental move speed boosted while healing?

D.VA:

  • Matrix length buff.
  • Call mech buff reverted. This buff does NOT help prevent staggers, not in pro-play, not in ladder. It’s a meme buff that let’s get D.va random picks in chaotic fights. Give her something she can actually have more agency with.

Doomfist:
I have no idea

Echo:

  • After using duplicate with less that 150 hp, she should return to 150 afterwards. The current 100 makes Echo too susceptible to single burst from a majority of the roster. 150 keeps her squishy while giving her a more reasonable escape window so copying non-tanks in a messy fight isn’t always a death sentence.

Genji:

  • Just give him the 1 extra damage buff to shuriken and bug fixes. Make his ability hit boxes more true to their visuals. Blade can have an ult charge nerf to offset the damage buff. If the above buffs prove too much blade is the first thing to be evaluated.

Hanzo:

  • Storm arrow buff reverts

Junkrat:

  • Buff mine health slightly to make it less prone to aoe damage destroying it when used for mobility.

Lúcio:

  • no changes

Mccree:

  • -25 health

Mei:

  • Wall is now semi-transparent for allies, like clean ice cubes.

Mercy:

  • Nerf the the non-primary beans of valk but buff the main beam. For damage boost it can be 50% beam target and 15% allies as opposed to 30% across the board.

Moira:

  • Damage (biotic grasp)
    Increase damage from 50 dps to 55. Increase resource regen rate from 18.75 to 19.65 (explained later on)
    Revert previous nerf to self-heal

  • Primary fire (healing hand):
    Revert her heals from 70 back to 80 heals per second. Nerf her biotic resource usage rate by increasing it.
    She currently has 180 total resource and uses it at 20 resource per second. Increase this to rate to 26 so she runs out faster.

  • Decrease passive regen from 4.32 to 3.87
    Notes: the point of these changes is to make her raw healing more impactful but more aware her resources. I did not touch her aoe regen nerf from the past because I would rather buff her main heals that she can control rather her ability to top up allies with a quick spray over.

  • Damage orb: Nerf max damage from 200 to 150. Increase DPS to from 50 to 55.

Orisa:

  • Fortify changed into resource ability mete ability similar to D.va’s defense Matrix.
    Current fortify stats: 4 sec duration, 40% damage reduction, no headshots, 10 sec cooldown

Current Dva Matrix stats: Max duration 2 sec, takes 7 seconds to fully recharge, Uses a resource meter that recharges at a rate of 16% per second. (after a 0.75 second delay)

Numbers can be tweaked but I think it will help Orisa use fortify in a more reactive way in terms of an anti-cc/anti-burst damage ability as opposed to “press this once to not die while you stall for a cooldown”

That being said, fortify is crucial to Orisa’s survivability while her barrier is down so a possible damage reduction increase would be in order since the max duration is so short.

Pharah:
No changes

Reaper:

  • Can now move vertically with wraith form

Rein:

  • Revert hammer damage and revert stun duration. (Nerf, buff)

Roadhog:
no changes

Sigma:

  • I personally like Sigma and WANT to buff something but I don’t know what to do out of… fear.

Soldier:
no idea

Sombra:

  • Make hacked target visually more obvious EX: Healthpack sugar skills over their faces draining down with the hack duration like with packs.
  • Slightly decrease cast time for stealth activation ONLY.

Symmetra:

  • Photon barrier now gives allies +25 shield for only its’ 13 second duration or until destroyed.
  • After the wall is down the shield health instantly disappears like when brig rally armor expires.

Torb:
no changes

Tracer:
no changes

Widowmaker:

  • Now has 2 charges of venom mine so you can reposition a misplaced mine.

Winston:

  • monke

Wrecking ball:

  • Mines are now both destructiable and active sooner.
  • Individual mine destroyed animation changed to reflect that if Symmetra turrets (no more long falling apart animation unless they are removed due to the ult duration finishing)

Zarya:

  • Can no longer bubble an Invisible allied Sombra

Zenyatta:

  • no changes

I’ll dig into the nitty gritty a bit later, but I believe you forgot to give Reinhardt his 50 armor that he deserves. (Since he’s going to be more defense than offense)
