BIONADe the only multi purpose ability in the game

Bionade = stops enemy heals , causes damage to enemies ONLY , heals , boosts heals, AND :point_up:t2: It passes through friendlies that are fully healed now.

What a super, duper, conditional ability.

What else can bionade do?

Makes as a cool refreshing drink?
Antiseptic?
Motor Oil?
Use it for tanning oil.
Cooking.
It slices, it dices…

Is it good for breakfast too?

Point is… Bionade is a swiss knife ability. Do we need that in the game?

Yes. We do. Don’t mess with it. Better yet, stop messing with support characters in general. They’re difficult enough to play as is.

Coach gun is also multi purpose as well as Sym’s TP. However I see the point you wish to make.

In higher ranks of play, Ana is a skinny twig, hard to kill, with an ability that does multiple things at the same time, with :point_up:t2: a sleep dart to boot.

So basically Ana has a 6 ability Bionade, sleep dart and nano.

What fits the description of an OP hero? :thinking:

Yeah, I often wonder if nano-grenade does too much. Don’t forget the rest of Ana’s kit. Heals at long rang (though it requires skill) and sleep dart. The ladder is one of the best CC effects in the game.

If they got rid of the bionade damage I would be happy. Isn’t not getting heals enough? She wants to kick’em while there down too. :leg:

Sleep Dart is very difficult to land. And if you miss, you’re punished with an 8 second cooldown. Nade is Ana’s only form of burst healing. Take that away from her or nerf it, and you’ll ruin Support since no one is touching Brig or Moira right now, and Bap is slightly underpowered at the moment. Lets be honest Ana’s pick rate is high because other support heroes just aren’t as good or consistent as her.

Technically combat roll and jump pack are multi purpose too, but because 1 of the functions are way better than others, they are generally used for that purpose first and foremost.

Take away the bionade damage. Bionade damage is over the top.

It is a very strong and easy to use ability. Very generous AoE, affects both allies and enemies without having to pick one like Moira’s Orb. Now with recent patch it passes through fully healed targets, so it’s easier to hit what you aim.

Not exactly saying it needs a nerf, but i really don’t think it neded a QoL buff either. Ana has pretty much been one of the top must pick Healers for years because of Nade. It’s also not her only really good ability since she also has Nano.

It’s honestly baffling. When it comes to unique utility, every hero either has one or none. But Ana got two in one ability…

When she first got added, I already thought it was a bloated ability, but the game back then at least revolved somewhat less around healing. Now with the game becoming more healing-centered over time, the ability only became more powerful as well.

Ironically enough the ability also actively makes it harder to design new supports. After all, Blizzard is oh so keen on giving supports unique utilities (with Moira being the only exception) and bionade is already hogging two.
