Beta Feels Pretty Bad

Having one tank missing is less protection.
More damage taken, and the healing is the same. The tanks that we do have now just feel like a DPS with extra HP. There is almost 0 team mitigation on more than half of the tanks. There’s no insensitive for them to peel, or worry about anything other than dosing. Sure if they want to win, but I can imagine tunnel vision DPS being the primarily the way to go because it’s actually fun. Doing what’s fun and winning is better than body blocking for teammates. My point is its not gonna happen, they’re not worried about peeling. I guess we need 6 again, or healing buffed.

Or maybe, only maybe, players need to start to learn to relay on their game awareness, have better positioning skill and learn maps flanking route and covers instead relay on no skill shield or wait others give them a cover.

Ow1 have done too much handholding, so is time for Overwatch 2 to start to ask skills to the players.

For supports there will be some changes in the next betas, but i doubt Blizzard want more healing.

6vs6 isn’t anymore part of Overwatch series, they already confirmed to have removed 6vs6 even from future arcade mode of Overwatch 2.

I think the beta is great personally. No more double shield/poke/super slow careful gameplay. The tanks are crazy impactful and the support changes are supposed to be incoming. I think it comes to gameplay preferences.

Right now it’s a beta and very bare bones so I guess we’ll have see how things shape up. This is a beta and things will be changing.

I honestly feel that as a solo tank Hog, I will peel more than ever before, because going on flanks will be a little sus, because they will see it coming from a mile away and prefire sleep darts at my bacon.

Will have to wait and see how people feel about OW2 after a few months. That new game feel doesnt last forever and I think a lot of people are still in their honeymoon phase wearing rose tinted glasses.

Even then its technically a closed beta so there wont be much to talk about. So well have to play their revised version of OW2 later and then also play the final, released version.

Itll be a while before we see what people really think about it.

I think the problem of this forum is more to hav rose tinted glasses about ow1.

Was fail game with a gameplay was going out of market already in 2017, totally death now in 2022.

Some players still can’t accept it and think the gameplay is still actual or even worse they think was skill based.

Overwatch 2 have alot more possibilities for the simple reason is more skill based gameplay, removing/reducing shields and stuns something reduced skills alot in the years.

If some people thought the game was failing in its prime then that’s the fault of the player… not the game.

Just remember we have more DPS players than anything else in OW. A team based game doesnt work well when everyone wants to play one role

No is fact the game have a failing gameplay.

You maybe not know but Blizzard needed to do a full gameplay rework after few months from the release because the gameplay was a mess.

This is how is started ow1.

And this was when hero shotter was famous.

But hero shotter like ow1 was quickly forgotten and there was never a game like ow1 for years.

Simple there wasn’t a market enough big for a developer to create something similar.

Paladins, siege , apex, valorant, all this use heroes or something similar but are alot different from ow1.

Apex, siege and valorant still have a market, because they are adapted to the fps market, paladins is barely alive, ow1 needed a total game relaunch.

Not hard to see which type of hero shotter is dead.

dam just right now i had a real good game with widow. one of those rare blood red moon moments and had like 64 percent accuracy and 22 kills (spider potg)… no replays tho sigh. would have saved that game

It died not because it’s a hero shooter but because the “team based” shooter aspect was eventually forced onto the community.

The part that roughly 60% or more would ignore in favor of playing DPS

No, all the other fps use heroes have team based aspect forced, but they are still greatly alive.

I’m pretty sure they dont enforce anything besides not having two of the same hero.

This is literally one of the only games that managed to make a decent team based FPS moba-esque game.

Think of TF2 with role queue. Apex and Valorant are two very different games compared to OW.

That was a major problem for this game and the community. Some people thought the game was something else entirely.

You not understand.

Team based aspect aren’t only choice of a role, but how you play with the team.

In all the others game you are forced to play coordinate with team, think rushing alone in a game like siege or valorant, without team help you.

In ow1 for many years no.

For this ow1 players reacted bad to role queue, because they are too used to a casual gameplay.

For this game needed a relaunch, need new players more adapt to team based fps with skill based gameplay.

I mean, that was kind of the point in the early days. “My first FPS” and all that.
