Hey all, i have had this PC since 2015 and I have been playing overwatch with it since i got it but i always freeze every 2-3 seconds, it is still playable but it just freezes and it’s annoying, I have been playing on default settings for as long as i can remember, i am not very good with settings, so can anyone please help me to figure out the right settings to use for this PC? Other games work out fine, its just OW.

also, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, don’t post on the forums often!
I assume you mean the game’s video settings, in which case you should pretty much have everything set to low/off. Google “Overwatch Best Settings & Options Guide”, that should tell you everything you need to know.
I’ll tell you this much: ALWAYS have Dynamic Reflections set to off.

I don’t think you need to put it all to low, especially since it seems you’re above the minimum requirements.
Your RAM is plenty sufficient for Overwatch, your video card is well beyond the minimum requirement to run the game.
Your processor tho we need the exact processor type. “AMD FX-series” just tells us the line of processors, not the specific kind.
If you could:
(If running windows 7) click the windows icon, click “Run” and type “dxdiag” in the search field. In the ‘system’ tab it will say “Processor:” followed by the processors name. Tell us the full name
If you’re running windows 10: go to the search field "might be under the windows icon, or the little circle next to the windows icon) and type in “dxdiag” and press enter. Should tell you your processor type somewhere in the ‘system’ tab.
Now freezing every 2-3 seconds doesn’t sound necessarily like a unpowered hardware issue. It sounds like you might have a software problem. Try updating your video card drivers to see if that helps

My processor is AMD FX ™- 6300 Six - Core processor
I don’t know if this also counts but on the far right side of it it also says (6 cpus) ~3.5GHz
I have updated everything, there is no problems there.
I I don’t think it’s your pc that is causing the issues. My pc has similar specs and I get a stable 150 FPS on medium settings.
Are you using WiFi or are there a lot of people using your internet?

I use ethernet, the only other person that uses the internet is my mom and she uses the wifi for her phone, netflix and her laptop, which does not affect other games.
Hmmm idk then… you might have a virus or some other software issue or there could be damage to some hardware.
Do you play any other games? Do they run ok or is it just Overwatch?
Edit: oops I must have skimmed over the part were you said other games run fine.
I play world of warcraft, diablo 3, gta 5, osu etc they all work fine, i play gta 5 on the highest settings too
I’m stumped, honesty maybe there is a corruption in your Overwatch folder. I would try uninstalling it and then installing it fresh.

I literally did that last night lol
Are you playing on the appropriate server?
What do you mean by that?
Are you in the U.S playing on the NA server? Or the EU server if in Europe?
in the launcher it says i am playing in the americas and I am Canadian
just play everything on the lowest settings exept for the resolution and resolution scale

FX family tends to run quite hot, so I’d check temperatures while on load.
That’s fine. So yeah idk your comp should be good enough to run it stable on high settings and you say you have no other problems with other games, even graphically demanding ones like gta 5. Overwatch must be Doing somthing your pc doesn’t like and I can’t think of anything else.
Sorry I couldn’t help.
