Intel or AMD Ryzen?
Core i5/4600 or Core i7/4800?
Higher core count or higher clock speed?
Comet Lake hexa core or Ice Lake quad core?
Ryzen 5000 CPUs are currently the best for gaming. You want fastest single core performance. Clock speeds mean nothing since it’s CPU specific.
Ryzen 5600x seems to be a really good chip to get without spending a ton.
Games don’t fully use core count yet, so it’s better clock speed, however with the recent amd 5000 series developers might start looking into multi core performance, so it’s really up to you
As for current times higher clock speed is better for games, but in the near future it is possible multi core will be better
However if you’re also thinking In doing things like rendering videos or 3d models multi core is better 4 sure
Depends on your fps target.
60 anything
120 i5 6th gen or i7 4th gen
240 i5 10th gen i7 8th gen
No idea on ryzen overwatch can use multiple cores so more cores are better than higher clock speeds
I actual just had a post on this. Go for higher core count for 144Hz+. Lower than that go for core clock. Turns out Overwatch is actually well optimized for high core counts.
Is ryzen 4600u better than i7-10510u?
Ryzen Threadripper 3990X
Ryzen 5000 series the best cpus for gaming now, and well better for productivity than intel too. So 5900x and 5950x. Tho the other 2 are close enough in frames, and way cheaper/more available. Still prob sold out everywhere for msrp, but come in stock more frequently than most expensive ones.
Ryzen 7 5800x no matter which way you look at it. There’s no situation where you’d pick intel over amd in the current gen and possibly with the next two to three next gens. Intel redis graded back to a 14 nm process for rocketlake while amd is looking to go 5 nm for gen zen4
Never pick Intel over amd as long gas you’re going with zen2 or + even for gaming Intel is outmatched
Wait are you buying a laptop? If so the 4600u is better than the i7 10510u but I think the
i7 has a better battery life
The only hood CPU from Intel is the I710700K and it makes only sense with a very high end PC
A gaming PC sjouldnt put that much budget into the CPU, around 35-50% of the PC price should be the price of the graphicscard.
So:
If you are extremely budget (~400,500$/€)
you should consider a APU, a CPU with a decent GPU on board, like a R53400g
If you have a bit bIgger budget (~500-800$/€)
you want consider a R3 3100 or R5 3600.
The R3 is better for the price, but if you want to upgrade your GpU in the future your R3 will bottleneck a lot, so the R5 is a much saver option
If you have a big budget (~800-1200$/€)
You want to consider a R5 3600XT, but if you do anything else then gaming too the R5 5600 is better
If you build a high end PC, you should buy a R5 5600, or a I710700K. The R5 is a bit cheaper, but the I7 is bettwr for non gaming things, becauce of the extra cores and he has a bit higher performance too
!Note: Currently the R5 5600 is way too expensive, wait until the price drops to around 300$/€. Maybe keep and eye open for the R3 5100, or just any budget CPU from the new Ryzem gen
From my recent research it seems Ryzen is definitely better value for your buck.
Is ryzen 4000 better than equivalent intel 10th gen? For laptops
5600 not in laptops sadly
It’s not google intel-core-i7-10700k-cpu-review tom hardware. An overclocked i7 10700k or even 9700k outperforms the more expensive ryzen 3800x (On games!).
Yes amd has pcie 4.0 and is better for overall performance with streaming ect ect
But fanboying aside if you want the best rig you look for deals.
I got i7 9700f for £220 and Ryzen 3800x is £330 and £100 for a better gpu or mobo is gonna destroy any gains I would have had for ryzen.
Shop around and have an open mind > Intel or Ryzen
