Being put on wrong server constantly

Just started today, I’m meant to be on syd2 servers and im getting put on lax1 servers? i played one game and was at my normal ping (30-40ms) and then next game im at 200ms? and games after that floating around 140-200ms? really confused
i ran the looking glass thing, results below

You’ll want to contact the ISP and ask them to work with their peering partner to correct this. Right now they are routing you closer to the LA server, so the game client thinks you’re in that area and gets you a match on LAX.

This is also happening to WoW players, and players of other games not made by Blizzard.

Yeah just check a recent topic about me and another user, we have the same problem except we are in Europe and being connected to USA servers.
If anything needed for diagnosis glad to product some, i already posted days ago in EU forum but got no help and answers.

If you are connected to a region outside your normal one, that’s a routing/ISP issue. The community here and tech support staff can’t reach out to the ISP, you need to since you’re their customer.

What does that even mean?how my ISP is responsible all of a sudden of connecting me in a game on american or brazilian servers looking the IP, instead how always has been last years to european ones!?Also in some advices in similar topics at the end it’s said:

If in the event you can’t even connect to Overwatch and get into any game mode at all, please use one of the following IP addresses based on your geographical region:

US West - 24.105.30.129
US Central - 24.105.62.129
Brazil - 54.207.107.12
Europe Netherlands - 185.60.114.159
Europe France - 185.60.112.157
Korea - 211.234.110.1
Taiwan - 203.66.81.98
Australia - 37.244.42.56

HOW if in game i as player can’t select IP-servers?is something related to Firewall that is not mentioned?

Your ISP decides how to route your connection outside of the country. If the routing is experiencing an issue, it may send you somewhere else to maintain a connection. When the connection looks like it’s coming from somewhere else, you may land on a different server than usual.

Those IPs are meant for testing the connection with the WinMTR app, they are NOT meant for you to connect the game client to them.

Thanks for the clarification.
But if it’s the ISP what i have to do?calling them and saying “oh i got problems in Overwatch cause it connects me to american servers???”

THIS has NOTHING to do with our ISP ffs…

I’ve seen this happen to me too where you get put on a west coast server and location is on the east coast, leave game immediately and it corrects itself. It’s a bug with some netcode some where or the blizzard infrastructure.

Wait for them to clear up the problem, try using a VPN in the meantime.

That is not a server problem and is completely intended behavior. All players in the Americas can land on the Los Angeles OR Chicago servers. Landing on one farther away means nothing other than people near you didn’t queue for the same mode/same rank.

This should never be a thing, I’d rather wait longer (up to 5 minutes) and then give me the option to que on a west coast server instead of just throwing me there which I will leave anyway.

It’s been the same since the game launched. I highly doubt they will make the experience worse for people who play lesser chosen modes. But if you have feedback about it, you can share it in General Discussion since devs don’t collect info from the troubleshooting area.

Nice effort to promote feedback and I admire it in some small way but we all know that they don’t listen to the non-mythic raiders or the non MDI folk. Or anyone below Grand Masters / T100 / T500 ranks

This may feel true, but you cannot always please all players. Someone will always find fault with the systems they design.

Tried a free VPN but none changed, also still getting routed on what seems by his name the Chicago server (ORD1). I mean wtf i am in ITALY!
Ping is okay by Ookla test repeated day by day, just like i said for me and others it appeared to start after 2weeks ago when we had a lot of few patches; after that only one time i managed to play with a decent ping of max 40ms and was on the right server as i should be; then i still have 600-1200ms ping trying in a custom game and in training area when i know the server isn’t prioritized as area. Always have ORD1.
I will try to see if disconnecting the modem for 2min from the electric socket it’ll bring to have an immediate change of server; already done it but didn’t see a permanent change like i was having before patches. And i play from 3-4years now.
So just investigate about the correlation with the patches, cause right now is unplayable for me and if remains like that i can easily see me dropping the game.
