As you might know, overwatch has a lot of different types of sliders for things such as: FOV, contrast, brightness, colour-blindness, way point opacity and so much more. Even the custom games launcher gives you the option to disable the enemies health bars visibility,- all very useful don’t get me wrong.
Yet surprisingly, the settings revolving the player outlines has been left out by Blizzard for some reason.
Why is this annoying?
Well, given the fact that they added a replay feature, it really gives the community the ability to create some amazing work. (showing that they DO care about such things)
For example:
-Montages
-Short movies
-Skits
But sadly, just like a nasty watermark, the player outlines will ALWAYS be visible, regardless of HUD.
Not only that, the player outlines also make it impossible to make certain gamemodes like a proper hide and seek or basically any gamemode based around visuals. Scary gamemodes for example.
Personally I really like making things in the custom game browser, but each and every time I come up with a concept that requires any sort of stealth, it flops.
So I hereby beg you Blizzard to PLEASE add the option to disable player outlines in some kind of option menu. Whether this be in the normal menu, or even better, as an option in the custom game launcher (like the health-bar one).
Ps, please share your thoughts on all the things that would be possible if the player outlines were disabled.
