It bothers me every time someone dm’s me. It’s even worse when multiple people do it. The dm box aka “the thing you have to restart your game for it to disappear”.
Is it so hard to implement a chat command like /close to make everyone’s life easier?
No, why should I?
It’s just a simple request so please fulfill it.
Would that be different from /hidechat (or Ctrl+Shift+C)?
What the game should have is chat channels that you can close. For example, the ability to close [General] as in HOTS or WoW. We’ve asked about it for like forever, too.
Hiding the entire chat window is just not good enough.
Yes, that just hides chat chat. As soon as you press Enter it returns.
… What happens if you don’t press Enter?

The chat just remains closed.
You can use the /leavechannel command.

They should just add a /clear.
Unfortunately, in Overwatch, this command doesn’t work.
Really? I’m pretty sure I’ve used it before. Maybe it’s not the exact word but something along that line. You just need to hit tab until you’re in the channel you want to leave then use the command.
