Please, please, for the love of JeffKaplan… actually create a valid argument that’s strong enough to counter any criticisms or anti-arguments it could hold. Stop using emotions as your basis of creating complaint threads. All you’re doing is making yourself look like a crybaby on the forums who can’t take anything that doesn’t go their way. Does it create attention? I’ll admit, yes, but the attention is more focused on how your identity on the forums rather than the actual argument itself.
Here is an example - 55 hps Mercy isn’t enough. Well, why isn’t it enough? How can you convince the people that believe 55hps Mercy is fine otherwise? Is it that the raw healing output is too weak for a single-target healer? Is her healing per average considerably lower than the other main healers? Use evidence and logical statements instead of “oh my god jeff didn’t give us 60 hps Mercy i hate this game and the devs especially [edited by devs cause nameshaming is bad] and id rather have 50 hps than this garbage disposal of devs claiming that they care about every hero”.
Here’s an excellent example of a good argument on why Sym is too weak right now: 😭 can we talk about sym pls
Now obviously, I’m not talking about creating a 3000 word minimum AP test worthy essay here. I’m just saying to stop using emotions as the base of your topic. Obviously it’s fine to state your opinions (and obviously the reason you’re creating this topic is because of it) but you need to give legitimate evidence and statistics on why your hero is bad.
Fun fact: Sounding professional and not babyish will actually be impactful to the devs reading this.
Coincidentally, that whole fiasco encouraged me to write this topic, along with Mercy’s Dragoon skin complaints, most of the Doomfist complaints seen here, Anti-Symmetra enthusiasts against Symmetra threads, etc.
He claps his enemies with that stupid infinity gauntlet and it is not as easy to clap back without Windowmarker’s pew pew attack
Nerf his ult and shotgun pellets, and if that fails then make him a 200 hp hero. Finally, if he is still oppressive then he should be deleted because the devs’ hard work was not worked on hard enough
I also believe Valkyrie is a somewhat underwhelming ultimate.
It feels disengaging as the chains provide equal value to her primary beam, reducing any real decision-making and making my ultimate’s maximum value far too close to its minimum.
I would like 75 hps on the primary beam and 50 hps on the chains so that when I use Valkyrie, I can focus my primary beam on ally that really needs to potentially save a life with my increased healing output while still being able to provide recovery for nearby allies.
On a real note, video games are supposed to be fun. Therefore, I believe emotions, especially involving how something feels on the receiving end, is very important.
In the distant future, I hope Mercy’s ultimate faces duration reductions so that her ultimate can hold higher burst value while Doomfist’s kit moves away from chaining burst-damage & CC, especially his one shots, in order to make victims feel less oppressed by him and so that his combos can be smoother and less clunky.
I never disagreed about using emotions to argue about something. The problem is some forum users literally use it self-proclaimed and make the topic very biased and entitled instead of making a valid argument. Video games should be fun and every hero in overwatch should be fun and engaging to play as and against, but your personal needs that exceed the general population should not be the face of your topic.
I guess I sentenced it a bit badly there. Obviously you should still show your emotions and opinions about this and that, but don’t use it to deface your actual topic of what you want changed.
I am very bias against Doomfist, ofc I would never nerf his primary or base health but I stated how I felt. Even if I didn’t sound very rational.
Oh I know. I agree I was just elaborating on my view a little.
It is rather shameful every time I see a Mercy thread in particular that just throws logic out the window and into the jungle. Sick of being generalized because the largest “X main” community ofc has the largest pool of bad representation
I think emotions can very well be the basis sometimes, for example how you like or dislike something. It’s a game after all, fun does matter. However, that has nothing to do with balance changes or similar.
unfortunately for sym threads, all her issues are so interconnected and plentiful that it’s hard to not write paragraphs about both the problems and the possible solutions.
esp with the lack of people actually knowing about her.
