Battlenet sms verification

Hi. I’m not receiving the verification sms codes when i enter my phone number even though when i press resend it says that it sent me one. My sms works fine i get verification from all types of apps and battle net works fine with email verification codes not the phone sms ones tho, and i tried the authentication battle app and deleting cache like they said nothing worked!!

I have the same problem, I guess it’s because many people try to do this. For now I try at differents hours, maybe this will work.

Im also struggling with this.

I have submitted a ticket and just waiting to hear back.

I signed up years ago and now my number isn’t the same. Unfortunately I cannot add a new one without confirmation of the last phone number… Very frustrating - Blizzard should fix this.

Does anyone know how long until this will be fixed or if anyone has had any luck getting into their accounts after this problem has been solved?

I have the exact same issue. It says it has sent the code but never does, on the website and the authenticator app. I have restarted and cleared cache. After 5 days I got a ticket response with the link(which I already read) and was told to contact my provider. But no issues getting any other spam text :rage: I think blizz just dropped the ball and we have to suffer.

So what I’m reading is:
If you have a valid phone number, Blizz won’t send you the code, so you can’t play.
If you DON’T have a valid phone number, Blizz refuses to send you the code, so you can’t play.

Business decisions :wink:

I tried 3 other phone numbers and they worked but my main one doesn’t hmm weird. Anyway try using family members phone number or friends. You just need a phone number to enter the game they won’t send you codes and stuff i think cuz you have the email attached and that’s where they usually send the important stuff so just use a random phone number for now ( you can remove / change it in setting later) till they hopefully fix the problem.

Could be the same problem I am having. Do you have an old phone number on your account that you can’t access? That’s my problem, because I can’t update my number, because to VERIFY it sends a code to the old unused number, making it impossible to actually change your phone number unless you go through hoops with the VERY slow ticket support. I miss when they had chat support.

For any discussions on the requirements of SMS for Overwatch to, there are several active threads on the general discussion forums regarding the matter.

If you have SMS setup or are trying to setup SMS but are not receiving the verification codes, There is an issue under investigation for players in certain European Countries on this. We do not have a work around or ETA on that and ask that you monitor the forums for any updates as we get them.

For account issues with adding SMS (using eligible numbers) or removing old SMS (No longer have the number) please make sure you have a ticket submitted (As wait times are pretty long it may be several days before you get a response)

Please include or add to your existing ticket, the following information:

Phone number:
Carrier:
Phone bill that shows the phone number: (Screenshot or picture of bill)
Whether you are trying to add or remove it:

That will reduce the chances of needing additional information increasing your wait time in having the issue addressed.
