Battle pass isn't grindy

Been playing, not even paying attention to challenges, literally just playing as if I would on OW1 and already at Tier 25. Not sure why everyone is complaining that it’s grindy unless they are going out of their way solely trying to complete challenges.

honestly I don’t feel like it’s that bad so far but I imagine progress gets a lot slower once you run out of challenges

It’s not grindy if you’re playing all day, every day lol. Lots of people have jobs, wives, kids, friends, etc.

because most people have jobs and dont live in their mothers basement all day lmao

Its for dramatic effect OP. Because apparently “Win 3 games queued as all roles / flex” is a “grind” now.

Shout out to those who claim “I dont have time to play, I have a full job, a family, friends, etc” like the game is supposed to cater to those who dont have time to play a videogame. Thats not an oxymoron at all :+1:

Bonus track:
If just playing the game feels like “grinding” to you, maybe you should not be playing said game in the fist place.

Edit: Right on queue lol, its like you can’t make this up

I just played 3 games and completed my 3 daily challenges, took less than half an hour :man_shrugging:

The problem with the BP ain’t the grind. It’s that the rewards are mostly garbage and all the good stuff is paywalled for comical prices. We used to get everything we wanted just for playing the game. Now they’ve got you grinding for trash like a pineapple pizza souvenir and you think that’s acceptable.

3 wins is 6 games on average. 6 games that I do not want to flex is definitely going to feel like a grind which is why I am going to avoid the challenges.

Honestly, in this competitive market, other games give you better value for your time. So while they are not supposed to cater to people without it, per se… Some thought should be given. I have other games to play in my free time that actually reward me for playing. They will likely always be a higher priority. If I was Blizzard, I would want to be numero uno.

Your bonus track was basically your only valid point, so I genuinely appreciate that you added it.

There’s no argument, it’s just a fact that if you have a life and goals and hygiene to maintain and showers to take and things to do outside of sitting infront of a computer all day, the system feels grindy. You may not think so, but you probably also need a shower and maybe a hug from dad or something.

Between the decent number of good items in it and how relatively fast it goes, its actually enjoyable to grind it. Lets hope they don’t pull an apex and make them worse and worse as seasons go on.

well i mean what do you expect the game to do? it’s a video game, it’s meant to keep you playing.

yes not everyone has the time to consistently play overwatch, and as a result they don’t level up the battle pass as easily as those who do. i’m not too sure why some ppl view this as a bad thing? certainty it’s better than the game just giving you everything for playing a single game.

Battlepass is XP based, not challenge based. Playing those games still yields XP so you literally dont have to, and you still will level up or complete some random thing without even knowing it.

The use of the word “grind” is ultra dishonest because playing the game in their different modes is not grinding. Grinding is NOT being able to play or do what you want, unless you complete X daily quests from a faction, get an Item, level up your gear, pray to RNGsus on Dungeons and then, maybe, get on the LFG so a group picks you to do the raid you wanted to do in the first place.

^THAT is “grinding”. Not just playing the game and completing random things without noticing.

Everything I said is accurate, you just dont like it / dont accept it. Thats a different matter but thanks for acknowledging it.

Its not a fact. You literally included “feelings” there lol.
Buddy I got 2 levels in 47 mins … do you want FACTS ? Here you go:
If your schedule is so “busy” you have zero time for games, maybe you should stop caring about the Battle Pass because clearly its not your preference.

Exactly, and I want to one trick Kiriko. So by your definition, it is a grind. Like, I get you are their biggest fan and everything, but are we seriously debating whether I want to do this or not? I do not.

Uh huh… Your opinions are fact, Hyphen. Thank you for being reasonable and compromising. As usual, discussions with you are very pragmatic and not at all like nails on a chalkboard.

Well if you can’t even log in after the “maintenance” it doesn’t really matter

Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not even complaining that it’s grindy, I enjoy having something to do. I’m simply being a public voice for the quiet minority that think maybe it is grindy. People are allowed to have opinions, and that’s okay! Take a shower maybe? It’s good for you!

3 days in and I’m tier 20 basically. If I go at my current pace, I’ll complete the BP in 12 days out of 63 lmao.

I don’t think it seems too bad either. From weeklys alone you can get 45 levels. The there’s the levels you get while doing those weeklys, and of course the 1 level you can get each day you play just by doing some of the dailies. And then there’s the seasonal challenges that are there to complete for the entire duration of a single pass. I don’t know how much those earn you but they are also a contributor.

The real problem is that there’s very little content on the free track, and you can’t earn enough coins to buy the paid track. The actual speed isn’t terrible.

Oh thanks for not using the “buzzword” of last month, Shill, just because someone disagrees and uses objective and empirical arguments against an overexaggeration.

Buddy I care zero about Blizzard, but I play Apex, Valorant and other games, and I played MMOs so I know when the word “grind” is used dishonestly. I like to call entitlement and oxymorons, like people pretending a Devs should cater to people that actually dont have time to play videogames, amazing.

uuuuh Sarcasm. Nice touch to exit a conversation you know you cant win :+1:

People have feelings. Fact. When it’s cold, it feels cold. Fact. When it’s hot, it feels hot. Fact. When it feels grindy, it feels grindy. Fact. What is there to argue about feelings?
