I might have to move again in a few months and unfortunately not sure when I can game again properly.

there’s no reason they can’t other than they don’t want to and given the rest of the game’s obnoxious monetisation I don’t see it happening
The least they could do if they are going to monetize the game in this way is let people choose the battle pass they would like to work towards as some people prefer rewards from selected passes.
The problem is they rely on fomo to incentivize purchases so it’s another case of money being more important than actually making the game funner for the player.
It’s not a good marketing for them. The principle of battle passes is to keep players in game every two months. The fear to FOMO works fine, you don’t want to miss something. And if players could have the same items + new items in three months, obviously the free-to-play model won’t work very well 
halo infinite allows you to grind any previous pass you’ve bought and people love that, its the grind itself they’re not too keen on
Maybe because Halo has way more difficulties to be lucrative and keep players in the game with less than 3000 players on Steam, you can’t compare with a game like Overwatch played by millions of players every months. Plus, I really don’t have to grind on Overwatch, I play chill and I finish the battle pass before the end date. And I think most of players don’t like to grind. But who knows, maybe Blizzard will do it in the future to maximize profits.
It would be nice to grind past battle passes if you finish the current one.
Also It would be nice to grind some levels for future battle passess too. I just hit 200 the other day. And I feel like If I play after hitting it isn’t worth as much as of my time.
It would be nice to work on season 2. Since I was busier during that season.
halo had a lot of issues at launch but it’s monetisation wasn’t one of them and I don’t believe that’s the reason it has significantly lower players

Sure I didn’t say that. I say that to keep the last players in the game and maximize incomes, maybe that’s why you can grind the old content.
I think Blizzard would win a lot of consumer goodwill if they had the ability to grind your owned Battlepasses from past seasons.
Blizzard will likely bring back old Battlepasses at some stage to boost interest in the game similar to their old skins although when is the question.
I hope so. Part of the reason I hate the battle passes is feeling forced to play it. And it would be nice to grind when you feel like it. It would bring more value to the battle passes. And make grinding out battlepasses more of a progression system overall.
Like world of warcraft expansions. You can go back and do the old content and get old rewards.
All the battlepass does is fomo play this game and rush to grind lvls. Instead of just casually getting rewards as you play the game.
Blizzard has known to innovate and making battlepasses doable in later seasons would be a good change for customer good will.
It would certainly be better than credits that’s for sure.
