Battle Net says "Playing Now" but no screen opens

I’ve seen other posts on here but no helpful responses as what I should do. Yesterday, it was just an issue I had where I was clicking to play the game and nothing would open. I resolved it by doing the “Scan and Repair” on Bnet and the game ran after that with no issues.
Today, I try opening the game again without restarting my computer at all, and the same issue occurred. I did the same thing and I opened the game after about 10 minutes of doing the scan and repair. The only thing is my friend just had the same issue happen to him. I don’t want to Scan and Repair and wait 10 minutes each time I want to play but not sure what else I can do.

I had the same problem today, the game launched after a scan and repair.
The process is there, but the reading speed is only like 2MB/s. Nothing happens after minutes.

google this issue and you see posts from 8 years ago with the same issue. scan and repair doesn’t work for most. updating graphics drivers doesn’t work for most. reseting in game options, uninstalling reinstalling, nothing works.

you know what does work? installing the game on Steam.

blizzard is so inept that their own launcher for THEIR OWN GAME is broken somehow both randomly yet consistently for EIGHT YEARS, but the best solution is to use an entirely different companies launcher. cheers to you blizzard, thanks for continuing to disappoint year after year. small indie company.

Many people (myself included) haven’t run into an issue once in 15 years. Most of the time this problem is from other apps blocking the launcher (anticheat from other games, security software, bloatware from PC manufacturer). It’s always interesting to see followups on this type of post where people say “oh it was x app causing this!”

Export your MSInfo to a text file (you cannot just use the interface) and review the error reporting section to see which app is interfering.

Today it happened again, reinstalling Battle.net didn’t help.
But after adding the Battle.net install folder to Windows Defender exceptions list, the game launched without any problems. No scan and repair needed.

I never needed to do that (I’ve been playing for 8 years.) but It’s always a first I guess.
“PC master race” right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Also tried MSInfo, found nothing. ^^
