So please explain to me why. (please no bronze take) Bastion is the worst-performing DPS go check the stats he’s last in win rate and low on pick rate near all ranks so don’t start. He’s never been meta at any time except back in 2017 (I believe it was a long time ago) for 1 month.
Can we please get his self-healing back? Many supports refuse to heal a bastion for 2 big reasons
(1. the biggest factor for years Bastion was self-dependant had a self heal and can at least survive fights. For the most part, when he had self-healing mercy (as an example) players tend to ignore Bastion because he can live without worry. well, the good bastion players that is.
So bastion is now stuck with the stigma of no healing he required and now that is still there in OW which is bad because he no longer can survive)
before everyone goes he doesn’t need that self-healing. Yeah everyone said the same thing with his ironclad passive and guess what bastions were getting destroyed so fast with no chance in which say it with me “They brought back his ironclad”.
Just in case people go what makes me so knowledgeable with Bastion?
1.GM1 with bastion since OW1 Season 1
2. 7 years playing with Bastion
3. Just in case no not only with Bastion I GM 1 with (Genji, sym, echo, ashe, widow, Reaper, and Sombra aka diversity hero pool )
To end look Bastion’s win rate overall is horrendous so yeah at least give his self-healing back. Makes no sense to me Bastion wasn’t touched for balance for nearly 4 years.
Then only after OW 2 was released a month, they move the cooldown over but here we go again it’s been a few months since his last balance this shouldn’t be. That he’s so bad right now he’s even barely used not only in comp but even in OW worlds and challengers he’s nearly never used.
I will argue that those stats are skewed because I often see Bastion picked at the end of a losing Match as a Hail Mary play to get offensive off the objective, never works which can contribute to the underperforming stats.
But he is lacking since his large hitbox makes him easy to take out.
he was the focal point of Wall up Wheels down, a comp that destroyed contenders last year. and Trick room used it to beat honest to god OWL teams during the pro AM. so i don’t think he needs buffs, he just requires coordination. like many other characters that are weak in comp.
IF you actually know how OW2 API works there is no skew if in all tiers he’s either dead last or near dead last in pick and win rate.
A hail Mary doesn’t constitute toward skew since his stats performance is horrible.
Lacking is an understatement actually play him and you will see how bad it is especially when support refuses to heal you because either they have hatred for Bastion or they have tunnel vision.
Um okay so for an extremely short time I think it wasn’t even for a month he was good in your eyes alright. bastion has been out for 7 years and that short time last make you go you know what he’s good lol that some copium right there lol.
for this, you need to start playing him in the comp if you think even with coordination he’s good. you’re in for a rude awakening when you see support doesn’t want to heal you so can have to play metal gear solid just to survive in fights. There is a reason why he’s the worse DPS please actually play him. If he requires so much coordination in the world cup he is nearly never used. and the times he was it was one fight they lost it and swap off of Bastion lol. Bte when I saw people use Bastion at worlds I cringe because they obviously don’t know his niche mechanics lol.
his whole kit is aim-heavy ill go one by one since it seems like you’re not seeing the light.

turret mode require aiming (this ain’t torb turret stop making it look like that bastion turret is an outwin no aim on turret = loss)
his nade not only needs aiming you actually need to understand geometry to you can stick land enemies.
Ulti is all about position aiming and prediction.
Not sure in the aim department where you say he has no value lol.
man, his ulti is bad really bad if you’ve seen his old ulti 20000000% better not only you can burst a target you can rocket hop with him take some damage then self-heal while in mid-jump so that that damage you took you got it back for hopping.
I like Bastion, but you basically need to book it back to the spawn room if you don’t want to die during her ultimate. That would make sense if it were at least lethal, but her average kills with it is about 1.7 per 10 minutes, literally the worst ultimate in the entire game. Start by fixing that.
even if you fix that it doesn’t fix his main issue and that’s his survivability. He has the biggest DPS hitbox about as big as reins. He’s slow, he has no good escape, and if a healer is not on you constantly, you will die no matter how good you are. With the only exception is that you have really good fight prediction skill and even with that only get you so far. Which is why he needs his self-healing back lol.
there is no to a point you need to aim even if you half-azz aim you will lose you need to be pretty accurate to get the full damage of turret.
lol yeah, it’s funny that Genji thinks they can counter a bastion lol.
if you play Bastion a lot aiming ulti isn’t hard its just the damage is 100 percent azz and its still slow.
I’m not exaggerating hell even at the time OW1 was around he had a pick rate of .34 % almost nearly no one used him except for us bastion specialists. In terms of OWL bastion got a rare pick until 2018 when no one at all used Bastion in any owl capacity for the next almost 5 years.
Now we are in 2023 and Bastion is STILL barely being used in OWL. lol there is a reason why bastion performance is incredibly bad. and most of OWL recognized that and its why you almost didn’t see him at all
increasing his damage will not fix his performance issue which is again his survivability. he needs his self heal back to be manageable.
Its not copium to compare to the other “weak” characters like Torb or junkrat, maybe even sym. They are all hyper effective against lower elo players who position worse or don’t play around other aspects of their kit. but are much more difficult to play as people reach higher skill levels and respond correctly to the character. While then all also having specific use cases like Junkrat in that one part of Lijang tower or Torb against sombra to prevent hacks on immobile backline. buffing those characters would break them in lower elo play so they stay as they are.
ALL I will say is ha people told me I was wrong and guess what they finally gonna address his kit for those people who disagreed with me up yours next time stats don’t lie still now bastion is the worst DPS in the game for YEARS… YEARS… so next time you tell me he’s good make sure bastion is in front of you so he can knock some sense to you.
