Can we all be honest here? We cry about Bastion and say he’s no-skill cuz we are mad that we got killed by a Bastion: The worst hero in the game, and the most able the kill you before you have time to react, therefor one of the most triggering.
Bastion has the overall lowest pick rate and win rate throughout all ranks (I believe his WR in GM is 35%). He is countered by everything in the game.
No-skill? No, he doesn’t have a lock on feature. He has to track just like Soldier. TRACKING! It’s a skill!
“But Bastion can win any 1v1 given the right circumstances.”
Go play Bastion and tell me how many 1v1 fights you get. Every encounter with him is 3 hyper-mobile heroes jumping around you.
I see people pop him on in DM to try to cheese a win… Guys… He may be the worst hero in DM. Every other hero in a 20ft radius will ignore each other and focus you because you’re the easiest target.
So when you get killed by a Genji you say “Damn. That was a good Genji”
Same with a Soldier, McCree, Reaper, etc… Why is it that there is no such thing as a good Bastion? Every kill they get is “No-skill bull**** easy win hero.”
No one ever goes “Man, that was a good play by the Bastion”.
Can we please just respect each other and be honest? He requires an obvious skill-set to play, one that when practiced, leads to skillful plays and players.

As a bastion main, I get a message after every Comp DM that I end in the top 4 and most Comp games saying he is no-skill and that I should kill myself. I also get reported all the time for playing him.

Bastion is an interesting hero. Seen him played as a very mobile (swapping a lot between different configurations) hero and he was amazing. I recently played a game where I shot him from full health to dead in his sentry configuration as Baby D’va because he was focused elsewhere and I got a good angle on him to keep firing (took a while but he went boom).
He’s a bit of a cheese hero, but definitely not easy to survive on. Getting killed by a Bastion in DM feels more like dying to a McCree hiding around a corner to FB + Fan the Hammer you to death. It’s just rage inducing. Doesn’t mean you’re not skilled in positioning or what have you, but it feels cheap.
That’s how I see it anyway. But yeah, if you actually win DM as Bastion, good on you. That’s very difficult to do.
Also:
I don’t think anyone says that in DM ever. XD Unless that skill involves dashing through you when you have 12 HP.

I (with 250 hours on him) Ranked into diamond in DM. (It is VERY hard. Every hero played in DM is Bastions counter).
The issue is, I get so many messages saying he’s no-skill and how I should kill myself and all that. Just cuz people are salty. I don’t think other heroes get it as bad as Bastion does, if at all.

Weird. I’ve played him in comp DM a good bit and I haven’t gotten salt. Just stuff like “How did a Bastion win?”. I think most people are reasonable enough to accept that not every hero outplays the enemy through precise aim, and that sometimes good positioning leads to success. Not everyone I guess. Mostly been doing Doomfist and Reaper, but Bastion is my go to on Petra if almost everybody is on McCree, Soldier, etc. Can’t get much done if someone is on Roadhog though.

Bastion players are notorious for getting brutal ruthless hate, and that’s pretty widely known and accepted as just the way it is.

I get ya. Diamond in DM as Bastion is a pretty good achieve and you should feel proud. Like I said, I don’t think he’s easy to play there at all, he just has a cheap feel to him. Much like Torb, tbh. You never see Torbs win DM, but they just deny a part of the map and it’s annoying.
I also feel you on this part:
I’m a low rank Tracer player. Everything counters low-mid tier Tracers in DM. X_X I understand the pros cut through it like bread using her, but us Bronze - Gold people get destroyed by everything.
I’m stubborn, though. Gonna play her there anyway for all 10 of my placements. So far I’ve won 1 out of 5. XD And I’ll probably place Silver due to that, but I don’t care.

I honestly wish there was a DM where you cant switch heroes. It makes you have to adjust. I have played nothing but Bastion, even when there are a ton of counters to me. Ranked into diamond and then just sustained between 2900-3100 for the last 20 games. Though I think I can get higher.
Gotta admit, it’s fairly interesting when people claim “no skill” when they die to who is objectively the worst hero in the game at the moment.
Like, they obviously have to have some skill to make them work.

Nope. They think that when you get within 20 meters of bastion you instantly die, while the bastion player sits there and watches anime.

Not even hyper mobile I just play Symmetra and use my shield to get close to him and jump over his head while beaming him and he never wins… I feel bad for him…

I can attest to this. Any hero that can jump and move, when you are up in Bastions face, you win. I have 250 hours… 250 HOURS ON BASTION… and Reaper kills me 80% of the time he gets close to me just by jumping back and forth and over me. Sym probably kills me 35% of the time. But its just so easy to jump around and aim at a stationary Bastion, then to (as Bastion) sit still and aim and a very close mobile target.

It’s fun sitting on the Petra jump pad in sentry mode and shooting plats who can do basically nothing except use their ults to kill me, but in general because of how badly he’s countered, Bastion is sort of the hardest hero in the game, honestly.

(BTW, I don’t think he is the hardest hero to play by far. But he requires much more skill to be played well than people think)

Bastion is very underrated. If you think about it he is better version of Soldier 76 in good hands. Imo he still needs some changes. Last time I had an idea about new ability called “overheat” (“E”) which will upgrade him for X time (red alert like animation, cinematic)
I can see you only have 11 hours with him in QP… So I doubt you play him a lot, even if he is your main
