Is anyone else getting tired seeing bastion in every single game? I played 15 or so ap games today and in all of them, the enemy team either starts off with a bastion and or eventually swap to him. I know he is easy to counter but without team coordination, it’s damn near impossible cause both healers are always on him. It’s just not fun playing the game with him around as often. He melts tanks. Supports can only do so much against him. And you need both DPS to focus fire him to melt through how much heals he is getting. I think they may have overbuffed him.

Bastion has been an issue since original Overwatch. Its honestly embarrassing when people swap to him. Like, to be admitting, publicly, that you need to play Bastion to try and win…
If someone on my team goes Bastion, it’s honestly at the point where I just tell them I’m withdrawing my participation until they switch. I’d rather lose than win with a bastion on my team.

I like playing Bastion personally. He’s fun. That said, he was over buffed and needs a nerf.

also, bastion used to be MUCH worse when he could stay in turret mode indefinitely

The current “uh oh, I’m losing!!” swap team is Orisa, Bastion, Ana.
The ‘Desperation Bastion’ to try and quickly swing the match has been a thing for years, but it was made less viable at the start of 2 because of the limited time of Bastion’s turret form and the rest of his kit being just… fine. Giving Bastion a ton of buffs and the general armor changes in 2 has made him much more obnoxious when the enemy builds a team around him specifically.
Bastion has always been annoying to play against to varying degrees over the years but he’s definitely a little overtuned right now for the character archetype he is.

Some of y’all have the weirdest mindsets I’ve seen in a game I swear. Like really.
So someone on your team picks a character on a roster of characters and just because you somehow feel said character is so strong, you’re going to purposely and selfishly make the game 4v5? Even if Bastion was some sort of super strong character, which Bastion isn’t, who are you to choose for others who they want to play, and then be childish and ruin the experience for everyone else when you don’t get your way?

Yup, if you don’t see a Bastion straight out the gate, people switch and play rage Bastion because they got their rear handed to them and think that his massive damage output in such a short amount of time is the trick. It’s boring, it’s predictable, it’s annoying.

It’s bringing a little bit of balance to the match. By removing myself, it makes the match a little more fair for the enemy team.
That’s what we ultimately want right, a balanced game?

I believe it is because Flats has pointed out lot of times that Bastion is really good into Reinhardt, which is not a revolutionary idea, since I knew that myself without his help since I started playing OW in 2018

yeah I have been seeing him in so many games, funny thing is I see him the NANOSECOND the opposite team struggles a bit. For a game with so many characters people love switching to the easiest one the moment something bad happens.

Bast is a noob punishing hero. Like zarya.
Easy to counter but it seems not everyone knows to counter it.
The fun part is that I see people picking Genji against him when Reaper is a better counter in OW2.
As long as there are people having no clue to deal with it, it’ll be a panic pick.
I don’t think Bast is OP. It feels OP just because no one tries/knows to counter it. Just like Pharah.

Literally, and I mean without any exaggeration, every single match I’ve tried playing tonight has been ruined by Bastions.
When did people get so damn terrible at the game that they need to resort to using him in literally every single match?

This reminds me of the time the community believed 20 damage Soldier was the best hero in the game and 19 damage Soldier was the worst hero in the game. I ain’t vibe with it, brother. There is a middle ground somewhere in that chasm.
It’s very common in metal ranks. Lots of metal ranks don’t know how to fight Orisa and Bastion, yet alone Pharmercy. If you get any 2 of them as opinions, I see more ppl leave the game than deal with it, lol.
I always find it funny when people say “he was overbuffed!” while the most buffs are to his nade, who is still at the same level in terms of usefulness: spam on CD or movement. The 50 heal for assault are nice, but also not game breaking or have changed the situation a bastion is in.
The only buffs that matter for bastion as a hero are: damage, movement, cooldown, duration or health. That are the keystones of bastion. If they did not buffed those, he is still as effective as before (I play a lot of bastion).
Also like other people pointed out: he is a hard cover usage and positioning check. As long as you dont stand in the open and WAIT for some time before engaging (when assault is online), there is nothing really Bastion can do. Dva and Sigma are also hard counters for him and snipers love him from all ranges. Supports like Ana and Zen can make him an easy kill or Bap and Illari can farm ult charge on him.
He is a skill check for mostly objectively bad players who dont use map cover or people who are tunneling hard.
If you ask me, it is exclusively because he is being picked more often. His actual balance state is irrelevant. That is just the excuse to get him nerfed and therefore out of their games.
I would think that is mostly because CCs like Flats say “he is OP now” or because casual players realized his DPS potential and try to kill Orisa with him. I understand it, but I really hope they dont nerf him… a revert sure. Even the ult buff was maybe needed, but not effective.

The guy is a herb. Its easy to counterr bastion you just need to pay attention and be creative. That other atuff he said is total nonsense.
