Actually done with this crap. Every single time a team is losing they pick a bastion and even if I still win it’s so frustrating to deal with. Bastion and pharah are the only two heros in the game where I’m forced to completely switch who I am playing and my play style in order to win. It is so incredibly unfun to play against this every single game. I’m ok with playing against bastions every now and again but when he is picked every time people start to lose it becomes a bastion war and everyone has to play around them. Just rework this hero already so his isn’t completely useless 90% of the time and a complete pain the other 10%
This post needs reworked… You are frustrated because he is picked when the team is losing…
But at the end you say he needs a rework… Why? So you can complain about him some more?
i agree with u
im tired of people quickswitching onto Bastion when the match has less than ~60 seconds and then get insane value out of him. very annoying lol, especially if my team and i can’t win due to it
This is just not true. I think in my last 20-30 games I’ve seen like 2 bastions total. I see him more often as a means for a teammate to throw, rather than get value.
As for a way to deal with him (and bunkers in general) echo, sombra, tracer all have great ways to deal with a bunker. Echo and sombra both can destroy pharah aswell.
I think some heroes are just innately unfun to play against… Bastion, Doomfist, Hog… I really don’t know how to fix that since I don’t have much time on the heroes myself and I know some people enjoy them/wouldn’t want them gone, but… there are still times when I wonder how the game would feel without them. Buff them too much and they become unbearable, nerf them too much and the players who like them get upset… can’t win.
yea i agree we should balance for the 99 percent so bastion can get further nerfs
This is actually a good thing. With saturation people will begin to start coordinating and thinking eventually making countering Bastion’s strategies second nature.
Happened in a fighting game I use to play. Don’t remeber what the proper term was but I usually call it, “The Wesker Effect.”
How about we bring back ironclad at 40% decrease in damage, and let him headshot again. Seems fair
I really dislike in comp when you full hold the enemy team in competitive, then they go ultra cheese comp like Bastion, Sym, torb mei with like a double shield etc LOL
But hey, if it helps them tie the match, then why not?
I really feel like bastion and pharah are gatekeeper characters. If you can beat them, you can rank up out of lower ranks, but if you can’t you’ll be stuck. (Obviously there’s pharah’s like YZNSA and bastions like Kolorblind, but those aren’t in gold)
OPs right, there is no reason why McCree should ever swap.
Despite everything else, what OP is describing is a very valid fundamental design issue in Overwatch that is caused by last - minute switches in geneeal, especially when they:re performed by the Defending team.
People who think that OP just needs to “git gud”. Pro players also fall to bastion. Bastion has a weakness but it also has an extreme strength that people ignore.
So the extreme niche character is being played in his niche and being effective.
I though that was what we were OK with?
Y’all peeling away from the hivemind here, it’s dangerous.
say the game went back to open queue no limits. what would counter a 6 man bastion team? or maybe a 5 player bastion team with 1 mercy?
He’s probably getting annoyed with stall tactics like Bastion, Hammond, and Lucio; he just doesn’t know how to word what he’s actually annoyed with.
Dude you have a Junkrat PFP.
Never said Junkrat wasn’t annoying? Personally I don’t find him that annoying, but most cos I play him a lot so maybe I’m just used to how he plays? It’s all subjective anyways.
Tbh sounds fair to me…
Bastion is a risky hero.
Super strong on brawl but weak to dive.
One D.va and One Genji/Echo/Sombra and it’s an easy win.
A lot of people refer to them as “noob barriers” where you have to counter them in order to win but when you do, it’s a simple job.
Considering the game is about countering as well (They even published hero cards containing synergies and counters) I think it’s nice to see a hero that forces you off your comfort zone to deal with.
high ranks see the same heroes over and over again as well so you don’t really miss much with seeing Bastion considering you wouldn’t see it as much the higher you go.
