The problem with shield bash was how consistent it was as a stun though. Besides maybe flashbang stun but they removed that too.
Sleep is harder to land, junkrat trap is junkrat trap, suzu technically can cancel ults but it’s not like people are jumping up and down in joy that suzu is in the game so idk
If you mean just killing whoever is ulting by shooting them then, idk that’s fine. Killing someone is a pretty valid way to stop ults. Brig can do that too
But the problem isn’t counters, it’s that she also countered a lot of heroes herself. If she was suboptimal that’s fine because it meant the enemy team was also playing suboptimal heroes into your teams comp.
This is what kept double shield so relevant; you couldn’t consistently play dive despite dive being pretty good against the comp after nerfs because of brig, even if brig did very little herself in the mirror. Stopping the enemy team from playing counters was good enough.
Overwatch is not just a 1v1 game after all, it’s a team game.
There are WAY more ways to deny an ultimate than just those.
I would be here an hour just listing every way that every hero has in their base kit to deny and stop ultimates.
From shields to succs to deflect to ice wall to nade to lamp to TP… it will be harder to find a hero that cant stop an ultimate with a well placed normal cooldown that the ones that can.
Brig was not a special case.
Brig had non-existent burst and couldnt kill anyone before their ults went off.
Its just dishonest to say ‘‘anyone can do this’’ as if there arent clearly heroes with way superior burst in every way possible.
Even if they dont want to give them back their stuns, they should at least get actual compensation for their removal and not just a lil bit of extra damage.
Mei needs actual compensation for the loss in survivability that was the removal of freeze. Give her 50-100 ‘‘ice’’ overhealth after 1.5s of spraying the same target, with a cooldown.
Brig needs to be an actual threat to mobile heroes instead of just a mild inconvenience. Give her shield bash a 0.1s stun and a 0.9-1.4s hinder.
So many distinct heroes now feel so watered down, because they’d rather make every hero versatile rather than force people to counterswap against a Bastion or Junk.
Well I mean, brig has? Her health packs burst heal and have a shorter cd, her rally is better, her shield bash is on a shorter cd, does more damage, can proc inspire, and has 50% further distance it covers. I don’t think I’m missing anything?
Whip shot does almost half her hp and displaces her
People don’t want to counterswap. People want to play the heroes they like. The devs agree because of course they do.
Brig is still bad for most of the playerbase because if people wanted to play a healbot that run scared of anything that approaches her, they would just play Mercy.
Nothing of what you mentioned makes her a better anti-flanker. It just makes her a better healbot for better supports.
As if something as silly as that would do more than just inconvenience Ms. ‘‘I can reset a fight at the press of a button’’.
And the game has become worse for it.
Popularity now rules the game’s balance, instead of any sort of fairness.
Overwatch was designed around being a game built around hero diversity and the counterpicking it creates giving you an advantage. Trying to remove the game’s skeleton has done nothing but unsustainable damage to it.
Reality. My point was reality, which none of your arguments are based on. Brig bash stun is incredibly powerful and can put anyone not a tank into immediate submission. If anything a small hinder at most. Then you got a snared opponent preventing their nimbleness and allow for a small followup. Stun only on ultimate, as already happens.
Bash also cancels things like charges and doom punch. You kinda just want it to be OP.
I’m a Brig player and don’t think she needs any buffs, but I would be interested to watch some bronze-gold or silver players to see how she ends up playing down there
You see, Brig was made to excel against Tracer/Genji and Widow. But in return she has always been awful against heroes like Pharah and Junkrat.
The moment the DPS role is allowed to exist outside of hitscans and flankers, Brig drops like brick. She doesnt have the kit numbers anymore to resist her counterpicks to a healthy degree and a single Pharah/Junkrat counterpick in low ranks demolishes her ability to do anything other than healbot.
Brig is simply a case of a hero nerfed around the stale DPS meta of GM and pro-play… that ironically she was made to end in the first place. She cant isnt good outside that anymore, if at all. Right now she is just being used as Juno’s bodyguard and little else.
