Currently it feels very unfluid to alternate between doing normal jumps and crouching jumps.
They should make it so you press and hold the jump button to charge, and then let go of it depending on how high you want to jump. Or just tap the button lightly to do a quick jump.
im sure they had it that way at first, then realized it feels odd to press jump and let go to actually jump.
crouching is also a small nerf, as he has to slow down without getting regular walking speed for arch momentum.
You can easily make it so that tapping the button does his normal jump
It would be nice if there was an option in the settings at least to make it so you could have “hold space to charge jump” where he’d crouch to charge up. Still have the slow down and all. I’d maybe add a thing where to go to normal speed you press crouch (weird, I know), but how often are you charging it and not going to use it fairly soon after?
Maybe as an alternative option in settings? The way it currently works makes clear sense to me and the whole “hold spacebar” thing really doesn’t for me.

It’s just for accessing high ground, jumping around in this game is asking to be one shot.
that would make regular jumping delayed and uneven.
you could remove his regular jumping altogether and force a slow down that would charge his jump, and release to jump.
but that would mean he will always be pressing it! easily avoiding stuff that should kill him. and that’s what the immortality field is for.
It doesnt cause any delay. Think about any game you’ve played where there’s a charge mechanic. Often times, just tapping it does an instant small charge.
For example, Syms secondary fire. If you tap it, ifs not delayed. Its just a small fire.
nobody holds jump. your thumb just isn’t always going to tap that button at the same speed. sometimes you will rest the thumb slightly longer from fatigue.
making jump happen on press means you always get it just when you want it.
actually, couldn’t this be done right now with a micro keyboard?
switch baptise jump button with his crouch(regular crouch), and program the micro to press the new jump after key release.with no delay
i only have a micro mouse but ill give it a try.
Macros are banable here. If it would be legal to use them, we could go with such things but supports states that absolutely no third party program is accepted not even those designed to help semi-blind people.
If they do this, they better make it optional. I really like how it feels currently.
