Bap nerfed again and again and again

Now bap does 25-5 25-5 25-5 and -%25 headshot to tanks.

A hero that should follow the pattern of hitscan equivalents will get the spread nerf treatmeant.

Meaning most heros are effected 1 way by the tank changes. (Considering spread hero also hit a lot of body)

Bap gets nerfed both ways.

Consider allowing bap to have his full 80hp health through the dps passive….

You know the same treatment every other support has gotten except bap….

Ana’s nade got buffed. Lw dash mercy passive. lol Kiri suzu unchanged bc cleanse…

Like every other support basically got their personal self survival back

I’m not really sure what you’re saying about his gun. I understand wanting his aoe burst heal buffed, not sure I agree, but what do you mean about his gun being nerfed in 2 ways? Every hero will be doing less dmg vs tanks heads.

He does more damage against armor and does the same damage against armor + headshot. How is this a nerf? 25-5x1.75=35 per bullet on headshot which is the same as he does now with armor 25x.7x2=35. I’m assuming armor applies before the headshot multiplier I guess but it’s even more damage if that’s not the case so

The 25% reduction isn’t additive, so it’d be ((25×2)-5)×0.75 or ((25×2)×0.75)-5 depending on when the armor is applied.

Yeah it depends on if they mean 25% reduction to headshot damage (the bonus) or 25% reduction to total damage if you land a headshot and the order which it applies matters

Regardless, the armor change is a benefit for bap, and the headshot nerf affects everyone not just him

Idk I’ve been playing a fair bit of bap because I find him more fun than Kiri moira and except against full dive he’s still alright. I don’t think he really needs buffs.

I did the math last night, and the break even point for bodyshots is 16.666… damage. If you do more than that per shot, you’ll do more damage and vice versa. I don’t know the exact threshold for headshots against tanks since we don’t know the order of operations yet (other than the fact that armor applies after the headshot multiplier) and we don’t know if they mean 25% less headshot damage period or they actually mean the bonus headshot damage is getting cut in half (which would mean a 2x becomes a 1.5x, which is a 25% reduction, but gets a bit messy with headshot multipliers other than 2x), and they used that to communicate it without thinking about the confusion it could cause by not outright saying exactly how it’s going to work.

Yeah I don’t know how I feel about them just dropping these massive pieces of news and not like clarifying stuff. For example we don’t really know if this means beams will stay at 30% like it was during ow1 armor. It kinda just causes chaos lol

Typically spread heros with low dmg per bullet don’t necessarily go for all head.

Hero’s like cass hanzo Ashe illari ect go for headshots. Annnnnddddd bap

Bap does 75 a burst. And goes for head. So instead of doing 70 with the armor changes he actually does 60. On top of that a %25 of the total 120 he could do. Is -30

So bap only does 90 dmg per headshot to tanks…

Vs 150 * 7 = 105

It’s like a %15-20 dmg nerf for bap.

Vs a hero like cass who does 140 to the head it would be 135 * .75 = 102

It’s way more than the %30 armor change for bap.

And since his only way to survive is sustain or damage… :frowning:

Bap really doesn’t have that much utility hes kinda like Moira

It would be nice to get the full regen burst without having to wait until you are below %50 hp. Or at least 80 and everyone else’s gets 60

Bap hasn’t got the same treatment because he was strong enough to start off with. He’s still one of the better supports. He will be after mid-season, too, because the tank buffs are stuff that everyone’s going to have to deal with.

As for utility, he has IF and IMAX. That’s plenty already and not at all like Moira, who has nothing in that department.

Tank buffs and stuff are what makes hero’s like Lucio, Moira, and Kiriko better….

In my mind you either go aggressive or defensive on support… and hero’s like bap and brig are the in between.

Like Ana, zen, and mercy are agro bc dmg boost and antiheal… you have to try and kill them.

Hero’s like Lucio Moira and kiri are defensive bc you can’t really focus them but they don’t have ways to help their team kill you faster.

Bap really has no way to buff or debuff. He heals and can shoot that’s all. And every patch he can do that less and less and less

oh no bap getting nerfed, whatever shall we do? a bap getting nerfed is warranted. man has been always either strong or too strong with his insane kit.

This implies the -5 is after the headshot multiplier and is how it worked in ow1. Headshot multiplier came before the -5 not after. The -5 from armor was the last part of the damage calculation

By this logic, bap should be doing 3x(25*2-5)=135 (the same damage as Cassidy) before the headshot reduction on tanks depending where that goes in the equation rather than 120 no? Still less than Cassidy relative to base damage because multiple bullets individually get reduced but each also does more damage than one Cassidy shot which makes up for it
