Bans just show weakness

It just shows that the devs can’t do their job and balance the heroes, so they implement bans for the players to fix the game for them. Which in turn ruins the game because people permanently ban heroes that others enjoy playing and have invested time and money buying skins and stuff for. Players just need to get better and play around heroes, not just eliminate them from playing which makes other heroes a problem to do whatever they want unchecked.

Youre right, players just need to get better and learn new heroes.

I agree, but the weak players that can’t handle certain heroes should learn to beat them. Not just be handed a win because the only answer to their hero isn’t allowed to be used.

For most its not even about them not handling certain heroes, its about banning heroes they dont find enjoyable playing with/against. Its about making their own game experience better.

Players just need to get better…

Again… im not sure how this is hard to understand… most can play against the heroes, they can handle them… its not about thay though its that the experience of playing against them is not fun

I can see that you don’t understand…… Not being able to play a hero that you want to play because they are banned is not fun either.

Sure i understand this. I also understand though that if enough people are banning the same hero…m theres clearly something problematic about it.

On top of what Pina stated, I will add one more point.

Hero ban system is designed for a team to strategize its team composition together before the match starts (especially at the higher tier, where ideally understanding of the game is better with more clarity and depth).

Example: 5v5, so enabling my tank is very important. Map A is XYZ (i.e., attributes of the map). My team’s tank has indicated that he prefers to play Doomfist. As a support, in response, I will indicate my preference to flex play Ana to aid him from the distance, while banning the likes of Sombra, Orisa, Roadhog, and/or Brigitte, which will likely counter my tank. In case the enemy team bans Ana, or my teammates prefer not to have Ana at all, I will play Kiriko to enable ABC and so forth.

OW is a team game that requires not only individual mechanical skills but also team coordination built on awareness and brainpower (i.e., game sense). The higher tier you go, the match is increasingly more determined by the timing and manner of engagements, individually and collectively. In that sense, hero ban system allows and promotes the team to communicate and strategize for a collective advantage.

(For that purpose, is it designed to favor players who can flex over OTPs such that the system is stacked against OTPs in case of ban? Absolutely. But that is a different topic, which I won’t dwell on here.)

An argument could be raised that lower-tier players are neither willing to do that nor even capable of doing that. To that, as a response, in the context of competitive environment, it is the obligation of lower-tier players to study, practice, and learn this game to play better, more efficiently and optimally, not the developers’ or higher-tier players’ obligation to lower their standard to cater to lower-tier players. It is lower-tier players’ choice not to optimize the feature available to them, and the consequence is also solely their own. This is true not only in this game but also in every competitive contexts of the human society at large.

Apparently it is a way for players that feel they need to control everything (such as having bans) because they can’t play around certain heroes. So the end result is to ruin the game for others. Point in case, the information being collected isn’t accurate on heroes being banned by low-tier players who are banning heroes just because and people who are banning heroes out of spite. So the devs will rework heroes that are banned the most and possibly ruin the fun for lots of people.

Not, you decided that, not players.

Otps have been doing that since the games release.

Do you have evidence of every persons reasons for banning a hero? Or did you again decide this yourself?

But make the game more enjoyable for the majority.

Apparently your opinion is the only one that matters? Did you complete your poll on every single player that plays the game, or did you decide for the majority that the game is better? See how that works?

Where hace i said this?

No im going off of my opinion, which is based on what ive experienced in games and read of forums.

You have people saying “youre doing this to be spiteful!” With players saying “well no, im doing this against you, im doing this for me”
